Any chance this project will get a complete overview of all modifications required? I've got a 518i that desperately needs more power and the M54 is the only reasonably priced engine I can find for it. Information on this swap is very scarce, though.

nice work. im planing to do the same with mine 535i. and i have a m540b25nv donor engine. what do i need? can i use the oil pan,sump from the m50 on the m54? and what to do with the harness? i want the cluster to work with the engine and lights. love your content
