I have a suggestion for this series. one thing that you could be part of the evolution is that whatever is the main feature of the build (e.g. a flipper, crusher, or anything that was the intention of the functionality of the feature {regardless of how much it worked as intended}) you must keep this in your build. and maybe an addition to that is you may rebuild said feature to work better, or you could have it as you must keep it the same.

Hey scrapman did you know bigger blocks accually have more hp? And also the 8x4 blocks are extremely tanky. So instead of using multiple small blocks you could use only one big block and you’ll even be able to endure more hits.

There is one thing that is very accurate when it comes to real life evolution. Every version has to be the best from what you can create. You can't just slowly build a giant transformer. Your vehicle has to be great and every round you have to add things that will make it even more great both in the long and short run, otherwise you lose.

If I were to make battlebots, I would not attack with the rear, the seat is more exposed if further back; better to have the front always facing the target. Fortify the steering wheels, the drive wheels are less important, to avoid immobilization. I would have springs to absorb the impacts from every direction--deployment and retraction toggle of springs in the front and deployment and retraction hold for a poker, and bury the seat underneath more spring blocks or maybe building blocks spaced with poker blocks. It's what I was thinking when watching the video only after already being a year. I'm sure Scrapman would make a few improvements if he decided to revisit it.

Man, this reminds me of Robocraft. You know, like World Of Tanks or War Thunder in how it played, but all the vehicles were hand-made and fully customizable. You had several movement types and weapon types that you could combine to make your very own original machine. You could combine legs, which were automated horizontally-mounted legs (like an insect walker), and plane parts, which let you make a bot with a Scarab movement type, with walking AND flying. I used mediguns and heavy shields on this bot, ending up with a highly mobile yet surprisingly durable healer robot. But then, Freejam, the developers, started making poor design decisions such as making un-original designs that make no sense the most powerful vehicle archetype. Like SMG wedges or... TESSERACTS, oh god. Flying rectangular prisms that used corner wedges as their entire frame because they were light but had just as much armor as full blocks. They were entirely powered by thrusters, and had barely any aerodynamic surfaces. They were very twitchy but could rain down explosive plasma cannons on you with ease. It got worse from there, with the auto-healing mechanic making medic robots all but useless (10s with no damage to fully regenerate your entire robot, come on!), and giving robots the ability to have multiple weapon types, meaning any robot could do anything. I loved this game, and while I'm not sure how its doing now, its amazing how they made such bad design decisions. So sad.

You really needed a SRImech. Something we used to do in the brit RobotWars, a SelfRighting Mechanism. Usually an arm mounted sideways on the body of your bot to help turn you back onto your wheels. Flipper bots are usually pretty successful, but the best are the flywheel bots. A weighted flywheel with small blades on it. I think that might be what Kosmo was going for at 20:45 ?
