We American are all ancestral immigrants from around 1600 onwards, many including my own came here 1800s crossed the great plains to settle ,,my lot in Utah,,,we absolutely love to see and hear how the old country was for our ancestors back then mine were farmers i did a where are my roots' investigation ,, spent 2020 lock down in a village called Aldridge West Midlands thats where my roots started,,,, the name Thompson is originally Irish,,,,many also in Australia east coast,,,,Ed

Do you still have family in Aldridge Ed? We only live a few miles from there. How interesting. Mine stems from Scotland, Ireland and Northern Europe. I find it all very fascinating.

The printed signs on what you thought could have been a shop cabinet actually is a bedroom wardrobe. My Nana had these in all her bedrooms. Hope this helps 😊

This is a huge place and has some interesting left in it. That double sided comb was a nit comb, we had one when you were little. It's such a shame about farm's going out of business and being abandoned. Makes you wonder what happened to the family. Well done again Rob and Clare xxx

What a place! So 70's but I don't think that the top rooms have been used for decades. The floors aren't made of concrete but for the life of me I can't remember what, lime or chalk mix or something as we rented a farm cottage with the same floors. (Sorry not very helpful😅) I haven't seen some of the stuff in there for years, a veritable blast from the past. That TV! Relic. Massive house and pretty perilous in places, pleased you didn't come a cropper. Nice you saved the bee Rob❤

Yes did a roots' investigation 2019 guess what along came Coved so i was "stuck" in the UK "Aldridge until 2021... couldn't get a flight back home.. Marooned .so i took advantage

@@silentseekersexplore great i'll share my story as i know it i guess it began in Aldridge UK,,,,date 1700s when time stood still in rural English villages sorry must inform you, i am a historian correctness must be always be at the forefront early 1800s my two families Thompson /Bickley,as independent families ,,left for the Americas they crossed the great plains by covered wagon and settled in Utah then wild country built as town now known as Brigham City Utah Methodists my great4 father 5 he was the wagon train preacher an great 5 mother was the pump organist,,,, every Sunday 8 months for 10 months travelling 2 thousand miles then build your house and life as a homesteader that house stayed forever, i was born in it in 1941 albeit it was modernised extended as time passed,,,, in fact most of my childhood was spent just bein "a country boy " Little house on the prairie" i'll leave i there next i'll tell you more bout the "old Wild West as my family knew it not Hollywood version lol "ger off ya horse n drink ya milk J"ohn Wayne

@@silentseekersexplore My uncle had a thriving farm for decades. He produced Cotton, Peanuts, different kinds of peas, corn. He had farm animals as well cows he sold, chickens etc . Use to have alot of good times growing up visiting him . He sold to big companies that supply food to grocery stores and clothing makers for cotton use. Made a great living but hard work 💪. @@silentseekersexplore Yes boiled peanuts are delicious 😋 in my opinion. I know it sounds terrible but you add salt and boil them it's not bad , pretty tasty. Lot's of delicious food the Southern states make. I visited for two weeks in Europe several area's. I really enjoyed it and tried the different foods . I found that everything was delicious. Beautiful places in Europe.
