We explore the rails THRU Far Rockaway. 9/13/23

We travel on the A train from Manhattan to Far Rockaway stopping at various points to observe R46, R160A, R179, and the brand new R211A subway cars. We reminisce about the old Long Island Rail Road ownership of the line down to the Rockaways as well as enjoying the waterside scenery of the line. Once at Far Rockaway, we hop on the LIRR for a ride on the Far Rockaway Branch up to Valley Stream. It has been many decades since I traveled on this branch, and listening to these strange station announcements that I am not accustomed to hearing, was quite a novelty. The Far Rock Branch has many interesting station buildings. It was quite a fun experience traveling on the rails THRU Far Rockaway!!!
