Old growth timber used in the construction of those old houses is worth a lot of $. Unless there was some huge mold issue (to which I didn't see any sign of) there is never a good enough reason to destroy such craftsmanship.

Y’all do realize that some old beautiful houses NEED to be demolished right? Things like water damage or termites can cause it to be unfixable and making the materials some may scavenge unsafe due to contamination.
