This method doesn't work. I tried a relative's e-commerce website who havent received a single order in 2 years and they don't even follow up or likely to fulfill orders (if they were to occur). Scam advisor gives them a rating of 99%. So I guess it only works for popular websites

Also if there is no COD option, it's most likely a scam. With COD you can inspect and if it's a scam not pay and return to the guy there only. Whereas with online transactions, the guy doesn't have any insentive to give you the package. If you don't want it, he'll take it back to the company. You can try asking their emails, number and every other of their "helplines" but they'll either never pick up or pick up, bullshit you and never call back

Another way to stay safe is by paying only if the website has a payment gateway. In that case the payment gateway will hold the funds and refund it to you if u can prove that u were scammed

If the payment gateways used are popular like paytm, cashfree, payu, razorpay it's much more safer because these guys have merchant funds held for 1-2 days so they will raise a dispute with the merchant after u complain and there is a chance where u could get your funds back

Yes everyone be careful about this its a sereious matter. Like i also oredered a Lenovo tablet whose mrp was 35000. And in instagram it was 4999. They said its second hand. But still it was in good condition with picture and video of it. I immediately ordered it for my younger brother. Atlast i recieved the package. But instead of Lenovo tablet they gave me medicine tablet for cough😢😢

ScamAdvisor is a nightmare for legit businesses. They purposefully give low score to websites on a regular basis. I've had to submit a manual review multiple times when working with websites. Manual reviews cost money if you're wondering, and this is how they make their money. All in all, ScamAdvisor is itself a scam.

It's reality I experienced it myself. There are lot of scammers and lot of real sellers too on Instagram. But because of these scammers people are not trusting the real sellers also. This scamming can really be fixed by Instagram by adding more security features for the buyers and for seller who are starting any kind of business on social media platforms.
