The Narrowboat Experience Hi NB's I loved this video.. I wouldn't worry about the schedule... At least your doing the voyage.. which is still to the 79 trip.. love the TBT photograph of little Kath..😊. And Annamarie was hilarious with Hangry Annamarie 😊. My daughter is exactly the same. Mind you, so am I.. naybethats where she gets it... 🤔. These videos are so beautifully done. Thanks. 🤗💖💖🐶🐾

Anna's face when Kath said we will have to push on until 10 pm or skip lunch or dinner was so funny! No such thing as failure, Ladies! Thanks for being conscientious for your smaller crew members. They need to stretch their legs, too. Since they aren't helping with the locks 𗂯. Great vlog, thanks from those of us who are watching from the cooler venues!

Anna's comment " I'm not even going to make it to Braunston " reminded me of the discussions I hear here in Australia. Some people take their annual holidays of 3 or 4 weeks and " see " Australia. Other people, like me, take 3 or 4 weeks to get through 2 or 3 towns. You haven't failed at anything, you're being what we love about Kath and Anna, doing a trip through the countryside warts and all. Another great video, thank you.

Just finished watching your first three 1979 vlogs, and must tell you how much I am enjoying them! Everything from your chat back and forth to the cats, to the canal action of locks and other boats, to the exquisite shots of landscape, sky, water, bridges, all perfect. You really give us the feeling of the succession of moments in the present that allow us to experience the journey. More is more! Also, the maps / Google Earth are a great addition! The 1979 challenge gives it a storyline with suspense, and the story that unfolds is even better than imagined. Thank you!

This Canadia senior enjoys your vlogs but I sometimes forget to hit "Like" - sorry about that. I'm new to the narrowboat experience and follow several of you and live vicariously through your adventures. I love the family feel to your vlogs, and even when you squabble a little I can still see two people very much in love - and it shows. Looking forward to exch episode. Well done ladies.

Enjoying this series Girls. Don't be downhearted by being a bit behind. Lot's of different factors with your trip. Remember you're doing this for fun. Yes it's a bit of a challenge to see if you can, but you can't fail. You'll have fun trying, get a little more exercise, make some great videos....plus have the story to tell for years to come. So it's win win whatever the outcome 😊

PS I once did Holme lock near Nottingham to Bardney Lock where I was moored in a day, on my boat Wud-E-Nuff. River speed limit on the Trent is 8mph, Witham 6mph. She only did 6mph but being originally a motor sailor, effortlessly cut through the water. Slowest was 3.5mph with almost no ripples, let alone any wash. See your Nickolsons for the trip. Oh, I also had a breakdown in Torksey and had to revert to the small outboard I carried for emergency. Couldn't do it today, this was in 2006 (or so) Younger and fitter then.
@TheNarrowboatExperience6 жыл бұрын
Carrying an outboard- now that's a good idea.
@MalcOfLincoln6 жыл бұрын
I learnt very early on, you either need a new engine, or a backup. So when I got Wud I bought the 3.5 Tohatsu that I've just sold to my friend.....there's a recent video. Certainly saved the day on that trip.

That was a cute shot of Alice watching shoes go by. If the water keeps the boat bottom cooler than outside, then I agree with the cats that inside is better.

Jasmin just posted her tape of the last boatuber party and you again tried to pretend what your channel was all about. Rubbish. Your channel is about two spoiled cats who travel the country aboard a narrowboat. They are, of course, attended to by two girls who are hired to run the boat and feed them and photograph them; little else. Ha, ha.

An early start to the day, no wonder there was an Oscar winning expression at the threat of skipping lunch. It's a long time since 1979, so to skip that meal is pretty grim. More coffee would help. Also, clap the cats in the brig for a day or two to give yourselves a couple more hours of steaming between the hedges each day. Next problem ? ;-)

Looking at that gal sitting with reading material there on bank at 5:20 and after, can taking boats through locks be something of a spectator sport at busy locks? (Or is that reading material or a towel? Towel, that brings another UK sci-fi series to mind, book and radio show, or was it radio show then books?)
@TheNarrowboatExperience6 жыл бұрын
Lots of people like to watch boats in locks. Sometimes we stop to watch too if we are walking past.

Life was so much simpler in 1979 and you could get more done in the SAME amount of Time (We're in the Time-Vortex Folks) ..... The journey from Reading to Maidenhead used to take 12 minutes by road .... these days you're lucky if you get there in 30 mins .... AARRGGHH!!! ..... #TimeTravel is definitely the answer.

Greetings,, Kitty.
@TheNarrowboatExperience6 жыл бұрын
My family were on the boat. They were just enjoying being on the water and moving the boat. That’s just boat hire! I think in 1979 there were a lot fewer boats to pass so you didn’t have to keep going into tickover.

I usually go to the galley and make all the meals whilst we motor. I bake bread, I clean the floors, make the bed and I do the editing. I am indeed cranky in this vlog, because on top of all this I have several work commitments. Everyone is entitled to having a 'moment' of exhaustion and I didn't edit it out so that I don't just present all of the great times- that would be dishonest.
