As a Long Islander, Long Island being left out of the highlighted NY map at 0:29 warms my heart...now I can have an existential crisis! And that's not just any train, that's a Conrail CABOOSE! Cabooses were used up until the 1980s when laws regarding having one were relaxed. And Conrail is the name of a railroad created by the federal government in 1976 to takeover profitable lines in the Northeast of bankrupt carriers like Erie Lackawanna and Penn Central (if only the tracks of the entire country was owned by the government...freight companies owning tracks is why Amtrak tends to be late). The railroad ceased to exist when Norfolk Southern and CSX agreed in the 1990s to acquire the system and split it amongst themselves.
