We fill a running engine with iodine monochloride - what will happen?

I can’t remember the name of the metal I think it’s called Galium. It’s a metal that eats other metals. I would love to see someone pour that inside a running motor to see how long it last before breaking down.

It needs good contact with the bare metal to get started. An oxide or sludge film would keep anything from happening. You'd have to at least put some scratches in the part that you want to compromise. Mercury does it too, but it is toxic.

Great video! IN the future, i would suggest doing the same experiment with gallium- make sure it is an aluminum block. Gallium turns aluminum into a semi-liquid that would be fun for a running engine! :)

Clean the top of the pistons (which have to be aluminum), screech them a bit, pour a healthy amount of gallium on, wait for a while for it to become one with the aluminum, then attempt to start the engine. It would probably become dust if done right.

Fill a lada rear axle differential jam pack full of peanuts and see if driving the car turns the peanuts into peanut butter and if it does repack the front wheel bearings with the peanutbutter instead of the grease. Please me and some friends were talking about this I'd really like to see the outcome

Could you do a welded differential but have fluid couplings on each axle, then separate the rear brakes to see if you could steer with differential braking like a tank

Sounds like the aluminum in the radiator turned into salt and erroded. I'm guessing the iron has also converted into salts on the surface as well.
