We are proud to have finally delivered something the Boom community has wanted for years: a video over 2 minutes. Jokes aside this was such a special episode for me (Jason) to film. I first heard about boom around ~2020, before I was filming anything remotely as cool as things like this, and was excited. To now get to be the first external person allowed to film and tell their story 4 years later is surreal. This episode is a milestone for Boom, and also for how we make S3. I want to create the best films about human potential and capture the moments of achievement. Changes coming, more soon :)

Great job! This is by far, the best introduction video to Boom Supersonic. Not too technical to confuse the viewer, but comprehensive to tell the story of the Iverture’s development process.

7:11 Both jet engines shown here are Pratt and Whitney turbofan engines, neither are turbojets! The first looks like a newer PW1100G geared turbofan used on the A320neo and other modern narrowbody planes, which MTU is a supplier for, and the second looks like a JT9D, used on the Boeing 747 and other widebodies.

thats a fighter jet, literally, sc/ramjet afterburners (sr-71) with electric starter-generators is a better choice over turbo-fans, it self-compressed without any other input, yep mach 3+ will be extremely economic.

I want Boom to do well, but also isn't the Overture supposed to go into production in 2025-2026? Just seems like they have a long away to go.

The filmmakers don’t understand turbine engines… Pretty obvious by the graphics showing turbofans when he says turbojet, and showing an F-22 engine when he says ultra-high bypass. Also concerned about boom making a turbine. Turbine blades are maybe the most challenging things to manufacture in the world.

The issue was never about the building a supersonic jets, that skill was never lost. The issue is and will always be environmental and economical. There is no demand for supersonic transportation, at most maybe few ultra rich people would want a supersonic private jet. But airline industry has discovered that people would rather pay for luxury than speed.

So with mac 1.7 how fast over the Atlantic, some simple math and how amd when it will cruise at supersonic would be nice. Plsns for how the interior cabin for passengers will look? And how are they are gonna insure that no catastrophic event will happen with the passenge version, it’s seems so experimental. Very cool to imagine though, probably gonna be rough ticket prices.

It's soo cool but the SAF fuel part of the vision is basically hopium pulled out of thin air. They have commitments to produce like 10K gallons of SAF which isn't even a week of Elon Musk's commute.

Do you know how I can spot a scam and when a company is a fraud? When I see owners talking about their life stories instead of the product and the technological advances it has.
