We finally got the inav plane working the way that it's supposed to! In the end, we aren't really sure what actually worked, so sorry that we don't have useful information for you, but hey -- it's working. Morale of the story is turn it off and on again.

Sadly I haven't flown in a few years, but back when I was I loved iNav and have even used the loiter setting to get one plane in the air and then set that radio down and then chase that plane with my quad :) Cool to see you excited about iNav, it's an incredible project/product

11:00 the confidence when you figure out how to make INAV do what you want, and then you can just send it 🤌🏻 Put it in loiter, flip your goggles up to have a chat, leave it in Cruise to fly off into the distance and take your hands off the sticks, AutoLaunch it back over your head no-look, it's great. And then once you do an autotune, in Acro all your planes will fly on rails.

You can launch with loiter or rth and it will switch to that mode after the auto launch sequence has ended.

@@NURKFPV Just a small heads up to avoid confusion, in order to do this one needs to arm in acro or angle first and then turn on auto launch (unless you have it set to be always on) and then switch to loiter/rth, iNav won’t let you arm in navigation modes as a safety precaution so that extra step is required

Hey NURK. I'm glad you got INAV working. I just installed INAV 7 on my Ranger T1 Build, yep its that simple. I had a different issue. Hopefully I have it working now. I just wish INAV had low power disarmed like Betaflight. I have a Maytek F411 wte and it won't work on Betaflight. Next time I hope to get a digital system. Thanks again for the video

I think the trick with inav is to not overthink things - it works remarkably well out of the box. The bumps from the wind are a little unsettling compared to a quad with almost instantaneous gyro corrections, but wings are inherently stable :)

I'm wondering if this wing can be tuned to hold it's wings more locked in or if it's just an inescapable physics thing of a short wingspan. Maybe this is why the quad world got so popular. The video from the wing is just so wobbly and it reminded me of why I don't watch much wing content anymore.

Yo! I haven't seen a Nurk video in ages! I only got into FPV in 2020, even though drones were first, I had to add planes. Now I have my brother setting up his first FPV rig and my dad is back into RC planes. It's been a great year!

In manual the ailerons react to what you set in the controller for the aileron weights. Once you set a flight mode, the ailerons react to what is set in inav/FC and ignores the controller settings. Andrew newton thought me that. His latest 'simple inav set up" video ftw.. Great content!

iNav is weird sometimes. I am having this dumb video issue where my FC is saving incorrect VTX power values which I can only fix by opening the FC in configurator and setting the VTX power for every flight. This is across multiple FCs and multiple different VTXs. It's so frustrating, but easy enough to work around that I'm not putting a ton of work into actually fixing it.

I need an Eddie. Programming flight controllers is so unintuitive and overly complicated. There are a select few that understand the utter nonsense of a rats nest you need to build inside your rc plane to make these things fly properly. The FAA has nothing to worry about because this community will forever remain small until somone sells a plug and play fpv model at a reasonable price. And with all of the competing protocols out there it's not going to happen.
