I have found there are 4 worlds. 1) Land and Air and the air includes flying, 2) Fresh water on and under, 3) Salt water during the day, and 4) Salt water at night has a completely different group of creatures. Enjoy your adventures and living aboard. All the best, Hal

I love Diving. Scared the heck out of non divers on the boat the first night dive off shore when we all covered our lights , black-out, to see the beauty of the ocean life. They though we had been eaten by sharks or something.

That underwater park in Edmonds is wonderful. It's where I became a PADI Advanced Open Water Certified SCUBA diver. My husband was a NAUI Certified diver. It was built and funded by City, State and Federal funds. They split a barge and sank the halves to make home for the Marine wildlife. There are outdoor showers to rinse the saltwater off your gear. It is a protected Marine Sanctuary, and a State Park. Except for the flounder, the fish come right up to you. Watch out for the Ferry noise/sound, especially underwater. Know how to turn your Commercial Offshore dry suit into a wet suit? Turn your head around, and come face to face with a sea lion, lol. The water magnifies 25%. Don't poke your hands into the holes! A momma Moray Eel may be protecting her babies!!! There's another great dive off of Alki. Some commodes (toilets) were dumped, and the baby Octopi love them. Happy trails to you all, from your eternal sister in Christ somewhere near Seattle. Glad we got some rain b4 the 4th. It helps to reduce the fire hazard as ppl shoot them off in celebration of our freedom and Nation's Birthday. 🇺🇸 ⚘ 🙏❤🙏 ⚘ 🇺🇸 P.S. Ooops... forgot the Old Union Warf in Pt. Townsend. One of the oldest still-standing piers in Puget Sound. Great for a walk-about. Great restaurants. Fort Warden State Park has wonderful concerts in the summer. You can even have crumpets and tea at Manresq Castle. Great diving, if you watch your tide charts and hit it at low slack tide.

The "barge' is actually the old De Lion drydock which was set up inside nearby Vashon Island (Quartermaster Harbor) at the community of Dockton, dating back to the 1880s. The drydock was 310' by 85' and handled old clipper ships and the newer iron steamships which followed; swallowing the ships, raising them above sea level, so the bottoms could be cleaned and repaired. The drydock was active right through WW!!, then towed to Edmonds and sank as a way to curtail the strong currents which bedeviled the ferry boats as they tried to dock - the sunken drydock acted as a buffer. The middle of the drydock has long since been buried beneath sand/gravel, but the two long sides stick up twenty feet from the bottom and are covered with sea life and act as homes for myriads of fish - the best part of the marine park (though divers nowadays are discouraged to visit the sunken dry dock due to its close proximity to the ferry slip).

Wow. A Zeagle Ranger BC. Impressive Elizabeth. One way to go hands free when walking in shallow water; and, to and from the dive site, is clip the BC chest strap through the mask and fin straps. Even with low viz conditions, it was a great video.

For NW diving, I recommend a wetsuit with a built in hood, they really reduce the cold water flow along the back of the neck, which keeps you much warmer. The most important thing any diver, new or experienced should know, is the ability to say No/Not today. If you are doubting a dive, say no to it. The park seems like a great idea with the marked grid and shallow, great way to practice your skills and get comfortable.

Greetings from Switzerland! Among other things I do for a living, I’m a wedding photographer, mainly in Switzerland but also in other European countries. In Europe, it’s not a good idea, either, to see the Bride before the wedding, for the reasons Elizabeth mentioned. What I tend to do is, to plan ways in advance a few photos we can do once the couple is married, just after the ceremony, without needing to go to far away and leaving the guests on their own for to long. We then organize, if desired, a new photo shooting, once the couple comes back from their honeymoon or, a few days after the party. Most of the time I’m friends with the hairdresser team and make-up team so, it’s things one can arrange quite easily. Anyways, it’s against the rules to see the Bride before the ceremony, only Dad is allowed to see his daughter at that moment. Made me smile to see your foldable cart, as I use the exact same one, not only for boating but; mostly for my video and photography gear (lol). I like the size of it, as it allows me to pass thru doorways, which is important for me. I was surprised about the bad visibility with water temps at 55°F, which is kinda fresh and allows nicer views in most lakes but, then again, it’s not a lake situation. Thanks for sharing those moments with us. Happy 4th of July All!

Oh man. I hope those weren't the dive highlights. The park is huge, but the crown jewel is the sunken ship. Even in poor summer visibility, it's pretty cool. There is a very detailed map near the building next to the showers. I'm a local and have been diving there at least 20 times - it's a great spot.

My son and I dove the park about a week before and the vis was so bad we bailed half way through the dive. On good vis days the park is fantastic with many sunken boat hulls and other items creating habitats, a grid of N/S, E/W lines on the bottom to help with navigation helping to make each dive interesting. Having worked on the Edmonds fuel dock as a summer job back in the mid 80s it's always fun to see the Marina featured in a video.

The one good thing about swing the bride before the actual ceremony- at least you know they are both showing up, and not standing there looking for them before the ceremony! I’ll have to try the park when I go out there to visit! Although, I will be bringing my dry suit with me. The visibility looked good compared to what I usually have in the northeast.

I hope you’re still doing your question an answer section my question is can you go through the procedures and steps for when you hook up to shore power and unhook shore power you know what you turn on and off on your switches on your boat also when you power up to use a generator compared to running your motor switches as you turn on and turn off in the sequence you do so you don’t have issues. Plus what could happen if you did it wrong!!! I am Lee Gordon from Auburn Indiana home of the classic Duesenberg car

Brrr 55F. I used to consider 75F cold (water temps near surface of 90F in the summer). Shore diving is never my thing, too much sand and stuff in gear. Looks like an okay spot, I'm used to alot more marine life (but similar green algae vis in the winter) I guess with the currents in PNW sheltered spots are hard to find. Pro tip. a smear of baby shampoo inside mask will help prevent fogging

Married my wife at her family home in Malaysia, technically the bride is not supposed to even be at the wedding, but wife was having none of that, the ring got lost briefly leaving me very embarrassed, till her sister admitted dropping the ring tray. The whole thing was in Arabic with someone translating into my ear, at the end she was supposed to kiss my hand in an act of submission, but I ended kissing hers, which cracked the family up as there is no submissive bone in her body.

lots of people free dive edmonds. The swim in/out can be rather long, but the depth on a high is 15-40fsw and there's a lot of sunken stuff to see - esp at reasonable depths of 15-20 for you

oh, if you go out past the triumph (the wood boat) there is a big concrete bridge float. it's big so the cool think while it has depth (30+ on hi) the top is shallow , so you can choose your own depth adventure on that [note : I STRONGLY disrecommend attempting a swimthru the inspection hatches]

Seeing the bride before the wedding - is it bad luck or not? I've been married twice - the first time I did not see the bride, the second I did. Guess what, they both ended in divorce so I suppose that makes it an old wives tale. I did not get married again and my subsequent relationship endured. I don't know that you can draw any conclusions from that. Divorce is something to be avoided if at all possible!
