It was a bit lush hon...made a lovely change from the shower tent, strip wash or baby wipes...hahaha!! 😂 The flooring simply made the room so much better...it was surprising how it changed it.. Lilla is nearly empty, I forgot, so she's nowhere near her full weight..think I might try an elastoplast on the traction board..used to help my knees when I was a kid 😂 I'll draw the line at kissing it better tho..lol Mind it could be worse..at least our was on our own garden, not some hairpin bend with a tree n a ditch.!! 🤷🏻♂️😮 Love and Big Hugs back to you.. Awww thank you 😊🙏 It makes my day to know that people are enjoying them, it really does 👍 I think that with us being used to living in the van, the big house would have been too much for us to cope with initially..the smaller (worker's house) is much more us..lol I might make a video with that tune all the way through, but then maybe everyone else would be ready to turn it off..lol 😂 Good to know you've nearly got it pinned down 👍 Take care won't you and keep practising.. 😉👍

I always find those leaky joints, pipes more challenging they always make any job feels like unfinished regardless how great the input ,I knew as DIY enthusiast like you will get that task done, such a big difference bit by bit your place is getting cosy well done ,love it ,keep these lovely videos coming.

Thank you so very much.! 😊 Yes, not matter what stage or how close the finish line is, it still doesn't feel it until the last drip has fallen, lol 😂 Plumbing can be a nightmare, but if I were to repeat things, (which will probably happen when our gaze turns toward the big house) then these issues have been lessons, so that's okay 😉 lol Thank you for your comment..take care 🙏

Hi, hopefully you will remember us Pete and Alison, we were parked at Timble above Otley in the UK and our sliding door on the Crafter had stuck open you helped repair it, From November 23 to July 24 we were travelling abroad but still made sure I watched every you tube video, had a great time we spent 3 months in Morocco it was brilliant but now back in our own house. The building is coming along great love the bathroom, and with regards to you getting stuck in the mud Pete got four old bread delivery trays and cut the sides off and that's what we use never had a problem, keep the filming coming really enjoying it and maybe sometime we might drop in if that's OK all the best, Alison and Pete.
@LillaHusVanlifeКүн бұрын
Hiya guys and thank you so much.! Yes I remember you both of course.. How's the door been since? We have friends in Morocco right now and they're loving the experience..I'm not sure we'll ever go as Karen would want to scoop up all the dogs and cats and there's only so much room in the van..lol 😉 Are you itching to get back on the road, or loving being in the house for a while? I'll get to sorting something out with the traction boards..I'm just a little hacked that it was their first use.. If you're heading this direction, just give us a shout and make sure where we're at 👍 Take care guys.. Phil

Always going to be an issue. You may want to get some hard standing /road shavings down, but make sure there is q good run off. But if your going to use the other gate soon, i wouldnt bother as you just need to track between the two. Grip boards, find a local welder and have some made from angle iron. Run two lengths for the side (long is good, but keep them practical) and then 45. You can use them up either way. You cna use mats, but not if you spin first as the mud just makes them polish. Nice to see things coming along. Why not batten and plasterboard the kitchen walls, it will add some insulation and a nice finish for the fittings. Just remember to batten where any wall cubs will be.
@LillaHusVanlifeКүн бұрын
Hard standing was on my list of wants before we'd even moved in, but unfortunately other things got in the way of sorting it.. I've seen piles of tarmac road shavings in other villages, but never seen any in ours.. I'm thinking that something more substantial like geocells would be better for a drive, but I'd need to find a supplier here for that option.. 😉 We're thinking along the lines of the metal frame and plasterboard for the utility walls, but will have to look into that as my plastering skills are non existent..lol Good tip on the extra battens too..I would worry about adding upper cupboards to the walls.. 👍
@guywhoknowsКүн бұрын
@@LillaHusVanlife tow bar and trailer with shovel required then. I remember you saying hard standing, but didn't you dig that spot for the drains? Always makes it much softer. Not sure, I've not seen them, but you may find you can get the soft ones (latices) that may do the trick. It does seem to be out of the way where you're parked in the video to the other gateway, for hard standing. And I did wonder why you dug the hole for the old bricks and buildings which may have helped. Mud bricks are Slippy though. Plaster is easy, put it up, tape it and then fill the joints by scraping it off rather than trying to get it on. You can then try a skim, in the same way, do it twice just before it goes off. Or just joint it, and then lining paper or tiles.. Then paint. Hung cubs, it's a sheer hold, so long bolts will be a good idea. You would need to do that with the frame/batten anyway. I see a lot of people using the metal frame. Maybe better than timber depending on the dampness of the building.
@LillaHusVanlife21 сағат бұрын
I was told that you don't take from the piles if it's not in your village, so I'll stay away from them I think. Don't want any friction..lol No the land hasn't been dug around there..it just gets the runoff from the street I guess.. I'll sort something out in the end 👍 Yeah I think we'll go with plasterboard in the end..for all the advantages of it being tidy, but we can also insulate between battens whilst we're on. I think the metal has it's benefits with regards to damp, but it seems a litlle thin to my way of thinking.. 🤷🏻♂️
@guywhoknows15 сағат бұрын
@@LillaHusVanlife oh, i guess thats down to the local taxes as the village paid for the materials. Makes sense. Looks like a bit of a cost to have a load or two delivered, not sure they will get through the gateway, hopefully they can get in the side. Have a look away from practika for supplies, there are other chains and small businesses. You can buy insulated plasterboards in the uk. But i have not seen them there. You will need to pva the walls down when you put boards up to seal the wall, or you will get moisture in between the wall and board. You may need to vent too, vent the top into the roof space behind the board but also dont run on the floor. I

@LillaHusVanlife14 сағат бұрын
Ha! Yeah, she needed it more than I did..haha!! 😂 But as far as my shower goes, that's where you're wrong...lolol The boiler wasn't switched on whilst showering, so mine ended up cold in the last couple of minutes.. I forgot that the incoming water would cool the tank down as we were THAT used to 10 litres in the solar shower washing us both, but of course 10 litres is nothing to a house shower 🤷🏻♂️ lesson learnt, the boiler stays on for showers and I'd rather that I had the cold shower than Karen.. 🤷🏻♂️ 😉👍

Thank you Julia 👍 I have roof tiles, but I'll stay away from using them because when they break, they leave very sharp edges..we used a couple before we dragged the traction boards down from the van, but I dug the remnants out of the soil the next morning.. Omg guys! What a progress! Please make sure you get rest and you also leave some time to explore a bit, once the house is ready for the winter. I was watching about your struggle with the mud, thinking it is indeed a problem, but you found solution to that too! Back in the days they had horse and carriage, not sure how long it will take to take you to VT though.. 😁 Karen is a sunshine when she's happy! Did you get any snow this year?

Thank you! 😊🙏 We had a good rest over Christmas and we have a week with family coming up, so we can rest again whilst they're here, probably show them some of the beauty of Bulgaria 😍👌 The mud was always at the back of my mind, but other things had to take over unfortunately..we'll get to sorting it at some point 😉 I think a horse and carriage would have been lovely back in the old days, but the trucks would be a scary thing..lol Karen is pure sunshine when she's happy, yes..I try to keep her on the sunny side if I can 😁 We got snow on Christmas night and Boxing Day too..it made everything look very pretty.. Did you have any snow yet?
@IamusertooКүн бұрын
@LillaHusVanlife yes we did have snow, I love it, and I understand it is a mess after, but it's worth it! It is lovely to have snow on Christmas, it doesn't happen every year! Glad to hear you had some good rest. I know this is all hard, but taking a shower in a bathroom you build with your own hands for me sounds like the best thing in life. You give me a lot of hope, I often think, with age, there are fewer and fewer things for me left to achieve or experience for the first time, and it is nice to see I'm wrong. Till next video! 🙂
