I'm one of the few people who find the end credit scene haunting. The alert on the TV; the silence - knowing that the world is in disarray; and even the ant playing the drums (which most people found just silly) was going along as if everything was normal, and since it was replacing Scott for the house arrest, it just further solidified the notion that Lang is truly lost in the Quantum Realm.

The principle of how the Pym Particles actually work was explained in the first movie: It decreases the space between the molecules. BUT it retains the same mass!! That's why the shrunk version can still punch with the force of a full sized person. So everything in small version is SUPPOSED to weigh the same as the full sized version. They conveniently "forget" that a few times in the first movie (like when Hank is carrying a tank on the keychain in his pocket) but they just wholesale throw that principle in the trash and abuse the hell out of it in this movie, with the cars and shrinking building.

The Pym particle reduces size and weight, but not mass.
@whoarocket
@whoarocket Жыл бұрын
@@louisfrancisco2171 That's not true. Pym particles can't change weight. The equation for calculating weight only involves two variables: mass and the distance apart. So if they don't change the mass, they don't change the weight.
@louisfrancisco2171
@louisfrancisco2171 Жыл бұрын
@@whoarocket It does change the weight. Didn't you see the movies? I don't remember the techno-babble around it, but it's something like shifting the mass to another dimension from where it still affects things like kinetic energy. What is the distance between Earth and mass in another dimension? That's what you have to determine to know how Pym particles affect weight.

That is until we get to the last few seconds of the mid-credit scene, and we see that Hank, Janet, and Hope got snapped with Scott stuck in the Quantum Realm. I love Scott's relationship with his daughter Cassie. Their first scene in the movie is really sweet. Paul Rudd is once again fantastic as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man. Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne are great. I love the addition of Laurence Fishburn as Bill Foster, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr aka Ghost. And of course, Michael Peña as Luis is always the best. Definitely looking forward to "Captain Marvel" next. And looking forward to the next reaction. 😊

There is sort of some inconsistencies with the whole Antman thing. For one, you maintain the same mass even though you don't maintain the same volume. So if you were 180lbs normal size, you should be 180lbs shrunk down. This is how Antman/Wasp can hit someone that is full size while being shrunk and it knocks them across the room. The same goes with cars and buildings. If they weigh a few tons normal sized, they should weigh the same amount shrunk down. In other words, you can shrink it, but you still wouldn't be able to lift it. Also, it is the same thing when they grow big, you can be 2 or 5 stories tall, but still weigh the same as normal. It would be like lifting a 180lb bouncy house, it could be done, it would just be awkward. So it doesn't make sense with the established rules for how it works in the movie.
@WitchKingOfAn9mar

Apart from logical inconsistencies, I wonder how they'll react to the 3rd film, it's objectively one of the worst of the mcu, emasculating all the men, sidelining them in their own films, girl-power at the expense of the male characters, hollow & laughably bad villain, bad acting & worse storyline, numerous new characters who create zero interest. This particular movie series was never great but now it's just frustrating, in fact all of mcu, Hollywood is rampant with the woke mind virus at the expense of quality entertainment, this is what happens when you hire activists as writers.
@SilverbladeDagger
@SilverbladeDagger Жыл бұрын
@@WitchKingOfAn9mar M-She-U and woke crap ever since Endgame indeed, right? I think of the Antman series kinda like the Guardians series, fun, entertaining, and mere connective tissue with very little overlapping consequences or impact on the MCU as a whole. I think if they went straight and not as tongue-in-cheek it could have been close to a core character like Iron Man, Cap, or Thor since Antman/Giant Man and Wasp were practically founding members of The Avengers. Antman 3 was an abomination, much like Phase Bore and Five. Although I think the villain in Guardians 3 was the best we've seen since Thanos, but that isn't saying a lot. I actually think Antman 3 isn't the worst, that achievement has to go to the She-Hulk series. Hell, the She-Hulk series makes the Roger Corman Marvel movies look like a masterpiece in comparison! It's not just activist writers that suck, writers have been bad for at least one to two decades with only a rare handful breaking out to shine with actual quality stuff. A lot of writers apparently were fan fic writers back in the 00's and 10's, and a lot get TV jobs with low quality dreck on networks like The CW. How else would you see "Twilight", "50 Shades Of Gray", and to a certain extent "True Blood" get made into movies or TV series. Any show that has love triangles and that kind of crap is what they'll write. The woke stuff is the frosting on the crap cake. Critical Drinker should write a script when he's done writing books and doing awesome reviews on YT. 😏

There are a lot of great funny moments throughout this movie, but my personal favorite was Hank roasting Scott by “picking him up from school.” Ava interrupting Burch’s interrogation and the meddling seagulls are a close second and third. All jokes aside, my biggest takeaway from this movie is that it’s very father-daughter centered. The three father-daughter relationships explored throughout are Scott & Cassie, Hank & Hope, and Bill & Ava. I also enjoyed Hope’s dynamic with her father. Last time, she wasn’t on very good terms until Scott convinced her through some perspective. After they healed, Hope was finally able to become the Wasp. More importantly, she and Hank were in better sync than ever.

I'm a big fan of Bill and Ava's relationship. He makes sure lines aren't crossed, but he never turns his back on her. By the end she sees that he'll always be there for her, in spite of her mistakes and bad decisions. He really was a wonderful dad. They're also an interesting contrast to Scott and Cassie. Scott tries to follow the rules and be law-abiding, only for his daughter to assure him that doing the right thing is better and won't make her think poorly of him. Then Ava is talking about crossing lines by going after innocents, only for Bill to put his foot down. Yet he still doesn't think poorly of her and remains by her side through everything.

When you guys reach Endgame, instead of jumping right into phase four, may I suggest checking out some of the MCU television shows produced during those first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Defenders, Cloak and Dagger, Punisher, and, last but not least, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? They are a blast, especially S.H.I.E.L.D.! It's so much fun to see how that show, in particular, tied into what was happening in the MCU each and every year from 2013, a year after the Avengers came to theaters, all the way to 2020, while still telling a compelling story of their own! Easter eggs galore! I think you guys would have fun with it. Enjoy!

Sadly they stopped doing that around Season 6 and or 7. 😢

@@danielramsey6141 Yeah, I know, kinda... But there are winks and nods here and there, and at that point, season 6 and 7 are more like victory laps. Y'know? I still like em', especially season 7 :)

Wait a minute I thought you guys were going to do the movies in order
@whoarocket
@whoarocket Жыл бұрын
This IS in order! This is in the actual order in which they came out to theaters. That end credits scene shows you how this was a standalone story that was taking place at the same time as Infinity War and ended at the same time. I checked the release dates to put in a comment on the last movie because the order is really important right here, and it is Infinity War, then Antman and Wasp, then Captain Marvel, then Endgame.

they could not get big because at that time,they could not get as big as infinity war,and anyway,they had to disable the missile,weighing down on it would have still just pushed it towrds ground faster

Paul Rudd really nailed this character, he was a perfect Ant-Man and he's hilarious. So is Michael Pena who plays Scott's friend that talks too much. These movies are great and I enjoyed y'alls reaction to em but bruh.. how you not know what a Pez dispenser is, come on now haha
