The Archfiends have an optional yellow side quest in Radz-at-Han where a Hepteye explains their lives as mortals. You should check it out. Plus, their names came from the Divine Comedy, so the Thirteenth is Italy.

You mentioned that G'raha and the crystal tower is mandatory, but it was only made mandatory halfway through Shadowbringer's life cycle. I was straight up told "do crystal tower" before I was about to start Shadowbringers and I'm glad I did. Although that said, it made the plot development a little obvious to me. I can only imagine how special that reveal was for those who had played through crystal tower all the way back when it first came out half a decade earlier.

Fun little lore note for when you mentioned Y'shtola being 'white mage' and 'black mage' she's actually neither! She's referred to as a sorceress, and back then she was just a simple conjuror. The trust system is actually super purposeful when stating Scion's jobs. Granted, most of them do actually use in-game jobs but the lore is super tricky when it comes to giving someone the really rare ones.

And even when a few of the Scions have canon “jobs” like Alisaie and Urianger, they have unique abilities that they can use that are exclusive to them (such as Urianger having “Death of the Seventh Dawn” and Alisaie having a unique LB that only she can use for the Trust System)

@@nathanosworth4640 Different interesting thing: In the rare cases you can force Urianger to be a DPS, he becomes job Geomancer, which is supposed to be impossible for an Astrologian. So much like Y'shtola, he's some hybrid of the two.

@@KitsuneSoup I believe that's only in the Trust trial against Hydalyn, since they wanted to make sure everyone could be used if you go in as a healer (and even then, I think the job given is a unique version of Arcanist that is called "Lithomancer", where he used his unique Topaz Carbuncle)

Either she or Golbez is. Though rewatching this patch now, I also kinda realized the possibility of Zero not being Azem's shard, but her mother was. Either way, I'm looking forward to finding out who it is.

yes like this new face style can we have this face option with no scales on the chin they look out of place on Au'Ra male faces some elements of the scales are not even connected to the face and it really immersion-breaking if we can redesign some of the horns they clip thru the armours or poke thru the body

Patch content of 6.X has a lot of the story of FFIV as it’s framework, such as the Archefiends as well as Golbez; granted, he was a major antagonist in the game but he wasn’t FULLY “evil” Regardless, seeing and dealing with Golbez in Patch 6.X is just….I love it, it has been my favorite post-story patch content I’ve played in FFXIV

Just to reiterate what was put in chat, Ameliance is voiced by Gemma Whelan, Nidhana is voiced by Sheena Bhattessa. I was very glad that they cast an Indian actress to play an Indian-accented part. Also, Barbie is one of my favorite fights in the whole game, it's so good.

FF14 have in general been very, very good at casting voice actors that match the same ethnicity as their characters. All the Hrothgar and Viera are also voiced by Scandinavians and it's very nice for me as a Swede to FINALLY hear a proper Scandinavian accent in a game, instead of just getting some American actor that think that Scandinavian accents sounds like German accents. Or whatever the fuck they thought the accents in Skyrim were.
