Jordan, having worked in a cabinet shop, and happily no longer there; I can say that there is A LOT to dimensioning cabinets correctly that revolves around things you would not think about until you go to install. Guys, well done on getting squirrelly. It looks awesome.

Great video! As a millwork draftsman kitchens can be tricky and often the draftsman catches the blame. Best way to avoid mistakes are really good site sketches, great communication, cardboard templating for the squirrelly stuff, and detailed drawings. When I draw millwork in CAD I’ll build an existing wall from the site sketch and build/adjust around it which is helpful since most people respond well to visuals.

I run a custom cabinet shop. I thought it was gonna be easy money when I made the transition from furniture to cabinets. I was wrong lol. It's a tough business. Lots of money to be made, but it's super difficult to do it right and efficiently... I understand there are varying degrees of "right and efficient" lol. For my 3 man cabinet shop to complete an average kitchen I consider "efficient" to be 3 days to do the woodwork and assembly. 2 days for painting, and 2 days for install. So basically a complete kitchen with no call backs or remakes in a week and a half is considered a great job in my opinion. Average kitchen being $15k gross, with about 4k-5k in material costs. Can get done almost 3 kitchens a month if we don't screw anything up... But something always gets screwed up lol. Lots of work to do on fine tuning to go. And in the future we can increase our efficiency big time. But it takes an incredible amount of work to speed up the process and not cut corners on quality. Heavy investing into tooling and CNC software/programming is required. It's a huge headache. The trick is to get it right the first time. Cause screw ups it can take a week and a half job and drag it out to a month very easily if you have 3 or 4 editions of screw ups.

If you ever have to grout tiles with beveled edges again, you should use a piping bag to put it in the lines between the tiles. Then use your finger or one of those cake fondant ball tools to force the grout fully into the gaps. It takes a bit of practice and time, but it saves a lot of time in cleanup

God I hate metro bevel edge tiles with a passion. I use tile T spacers and the bevel edge means that the spacer is almost as thick as the edge of the tile and leaves little to no depth for grout. Here in UK we're required to not have tiles touching each other

Hey Simple trick for centering a layout for tile, roofing, anything with sections that you want evenly spaced. you divide your run by your tile widths. then take everything after the decimal and multiply that by your run. now you have what your last piece will measure. if you want to center up the rows then add one tile width to that and divide that by 2. then you have your start and finish tile. another pro tip is if you are doing really long tiles dont center your stagered layout all long tiles have a crown to them that makes leveling them a nightmare. instead stagger your joints in thirds. -TLDR: When you want to center up a row and it doesnt break evenly. Just add a tile to it and use that to split the difference.
