Dear Ed, thanks for the great content. Subscribed. The lesson I learned from this video is unless you buy the car new, or it's literally a museum piece, you're best to completely disassemble the car and go through everything before trying to push it hard. Expensive prospect, but they aren't cheap cars.

14:40 I was recently told by a national mechanic shop that my car needs a new catalytic converter (I don't doubt that I do) and they told me it would take one week to order it and that it would be $495 plus labor. I found the OEM catalytic converter (in stock at the store) of a national auto parts store for $195. That's 150% markup on parts

As a 20+ year VW - Audi Master Tech that half hour "What percentage" segment was total BS and just for entertainment. There are an exponential number of variables so no tech can tell you that you have X percent chance of a part making your next trip with any reliability.
