It didn’t take you through Italy because of road closures, it’s pretty much the fastest way to get from the south of France as you have to go round the Alps one way or another. The other way is to head a long way west almost to Marseille before going North. Not that much in it distance wise.

My dad always said when he retired, he would treat himself to an XKR as it was his favourite car but having recently retired and with insurance prices going the roof, he won't be able to. My hope is to one day buy one and share it with him before he's too old!
