@9:15 the manual flaps: I don't mind the Johnson bar I just wish Piper would put the fuel selector someplace that is a little easier to reach. Congrats on the ride in the new plane, that must have been a lot of fun. Phoenix, AZ

If its not broke, dont fix it. Have they changed the elevator trim? I find the wheel inbetween the seats a little personal when trimming. Nothing like rubbing your passengers whilst flying. Haha

@@SirDrifto It's one of the things I really liked about the "Tomahawk," the fuel selector is on the panel and very easy to reach.
@coriscotupi Жыл бұрын
Piper could have relocated the fuel selector to between both pilots below the throttle, as it was in the 235 Cherokee. But yeah, there are pros and cons. It would be more accessible for both pilots, but it could also be somewhat of a liability if the person in the right seat is a pax, not a pilot. Personally I would prefer it there, between both pilots.

Does Piper have their own ferry pilots?
@jackdugan88523 ай бұрын
@@brettmarquez562 they have “demo pilots” who work in other departments at Piper who are also pilots. Not certain if they get to ferry much, because the brokerage I worked for at the time always took delivery of the airplanes from KVRB (Piper’s HQ). I’m assuming they would ferry it for you, but I have a feeling most people like to pick up their brand new airplane.

No head rests and no wheel pants------------for $410K? I started working on new Pipers at Lock Haven in the 1970s. $229K would have bought you a very nicely equipped Navajo Chieftain. A Super Cub was under $30K. Sad what the Federal Reserve and governments have done to the dollar eh?

Costs of re-certification and liability have limited improvement options for certified aircraft. A few improvements for Piper aircraft that I think will never happen even at these prices: The fuel selector should be relocated to the lower center console and given a "both" setting. The flap/gear position should be indicated with a flag or window on the upper panel. The Johnson bar should have a sculpted grip and LED light (for use at night) to indicate flaps are deployed, ask me why. A positive control lock that can be easily stowed away for flight, not by using the shoulder harness strap. Wheel pants that allow for easy tire and wheel inspection and would also increase cruise speed and reduce fuel consumption, important for flight schools. I could go on, White leather or vinyl interiors get dirty real fast, a small headrest design would add an upscale touch. No pilot door on left side? I think the real purpose here is to train pilots on the use of the G1000 system, standard now with most manufacturers.
