And this is why I don’t have a cat. It’s next to impossible to stop them from killing things. The jug was beautiful! I loved how the new, clearer sections gave it such a dimensional view looking towards the interior. Sci is so good at this.

I'm glad enthusiasts like yourself can still find these nice hot spots of bottles. Back in the 1970s my father who was a Met Police officer use to take us clay pipe hunting on the Thames under Southwark bridge. We also use to get dragged to his motorbike grass track meetings where there was a old Victorian bottle dump on some old Ministry land. You could just pick all the pipes and bottles up without digging back then. I had an amazing poison bottle collection which I unfortunately gave away a few years ago... and the pipes too. I remember some very early pipe bowls but not many fancy ones. Harps mostly. Anyway be lucky and loved the bottle. Resin isn't the easiest to work with aye!

Sounds like you had a great childhood! Thanks for joining me on my mudventures. If you ever want to let me know the bottle dump location, please email me sifinds@outlook.com Cheers Mudlover! 😊👍🏻👣🧡

I absolutely love how that turned out. In some ways, aesthetically it is more pleasing than a whole onion bottle. You can color resin with alcohol inks like Copic marker refills. But I like how the clear resin contrasts with the bottle color. This is my favorite upcycle yet.

Hi Si, the armless and legless doll you found looks like a Kewpie doll. based on a cartoon strip character by Rosie O'Neill, I think the ceramic dolls were made from around 1912 - the 1920's then they were made in celluloid as well .Wow, some lovely finds. You're going to have to go back there ! The reconstruction of the onion/mallet bottle is awesome, great job 🙂 See you on the next hunt

Hi Simon. I once had broken a lamp base and the pieces were shattered beyond repair. Most of the base was intact though. I made a clay negative from the remaining base and fixed it so it covered a hole. I then used plaster to fill up the damaged area. After removing the mold and painting the plaster, the damage was nearly invisible. Maybe on the bottle you can use cling film and tape to make the mold.... I am glad to see that I am not the only one to try something that crazy.... 😁
