We found a Kebab in Isaan + Getting my first 100 Baht haircut!

In today's video, I went and got my first hair cut in Isaan for just 100 Baht! That's £2.50 or around $3!!

Interesting that all these vendors are using QR code payments. They dont have to handle cash (i suppose some do, if they want to). They dont have to wash their hands after handling a register. They don't need any power supply, electronics or internet connection. Can you explain a bit more how the QR code works? Does the vendor tell you what the total is, and you just type that into the QR code screen? Or do you select the menu items on the QR code screen? Anyway, a nice bit of efficiency.

I'll try to explain in a future video because I guess there's a few people wondering how it works! But it's usually the person's own bank account and you put in the amount they tell you. But in supermarkets and when paying bills etc the amount comes up once you've scanned the code so you know the exact amount without asking 😊 But yes, it's very convenient!

Are you using a Thai bank account? An English bank will charge you for each transaction and foreign exchange commission you make. Can keep an eye on it online.
