Little critique on this game, as it looks pretty interesting: If this game is still in an early release/access, it has quite a bit of promise. In addition to good graphics, it establishes atmosphere quite well with its lighting and sound design. Creature encounters are spaced out pretty well, and they aren’t even fully visible on your screen for half of them, making it way more tense (you don’t know exactly where they are and what’s coming, and the fact it still looks and sounds like you are at risk means whenever they do appear on screen it’s that much more terrifying). Mechanics and puzzles so far seem workable but thin, can’t tell fully from this cut up video. But most of the game appears to be walking around and looking at the liminal spaces, and the game appears to have enough things of interest placed around that just navigating the game is engaging. It’s a super solid start, and could make for an actually excellent horror game if these things are intentional and kept consistent throughout the full game. I would love to see things like “landmarks” added in (a body on the floor somewhere, a wall with scratches, environmental storytelling like that) to help players who pay attention to be able to make a rough mental map of areas, and note if they change (could be fun to have a section completely change after you get through it, even if you aren’t required to go back just in case players explore it). Would make the exploration more intentional and engaging, as you have to focus on what you’re seeing and make note of the unique things in case you need them for navigation.
