A lot of the time, the power is left on to keep ventilation going, so the place doesn't rot as fast. The heat as well. Abandoned buildings might not be visited, but sometimes the bills are still being paid. Especially insurance.

In my city, Birmingham, Alabama, whenever a strip club was closed/abandoned, it was torn down soon thereafter. So, I never got the chance to explore one. It would have been cool to have explored an abandoned club that I once hung out in, many years after it met it's demise

I used to go into abandoned buildings all the time when young until the older guys ruined it for everyone. They would have bonfires on the floors graffiti you name it destroy the place. Don’t know why till this day. Selfish and disrespectful

You should have just went to the police headquarters and tell them what you do and why. Give them a good reason why you take these photos.. to preserve what may be taken down.. having permission makes a huge difference. And that's how you get respect. Sometimes they will call YOU to come and photograph other places for the city or town.
