We Found Our Stolen Truck! Crazy Recovery On Video!

Almost a month later, we found our stolen F350 King Ranch 6.0 powerstroke! Unfortunately it's in pretty rough condition as you can see from this video, but it is fixable and we're so happy to have it back! There is a pretty wild recovery story the cops told when finding the truck. Thanks to everyone who helped look out for the truck, and gave us leads! Glad they caught the guy whole stole it, arrested him, and threw him in jail.

As to the proof for the wheels and tires. Where did you purchase them from? Tire shops usually record the tire serial numbers in all trans actions. Hoping for the best, guys.

There's a clip under the dash for the gear selector cable. That clip must have been broken when they changed the ignition.

After my Trans Am was stolen the cops called a week later after finding it. It was stripped! I kicked myself in the ass for not taking it back though! My folks talked me into abandoning it and taking the insurance money which I bought a new dirt bike with and I still have forty years later. I never had a car as cool as that one, though!

I'm glad you got your truck back albeit a bit worse for wear. Ultimately it's just an object, and thankfully you two weren't hurt during the theft. I look forward to seeing how you bring it back to life. I had an old boat stolen off my property that I used on my pond. Since the pond was on my land I didn't license the boat. My neighbor had pictures of the boat on top of a car parked at the thieves house. The sheriff couldn't arrest the thief because I didn't have proof I owned the boat. Lesson learned.

I recommend a steel plate reinforcement on the door handles, they are easy to break into with a screwdriver. then also add a hidden kill switch.

I had my locks punched out on my F-350 but ran the guy off before he could actually get into the truck. I ended up replacing both the front door handles with rear handles that do NOT have locks in them. Just don't let the batteries die. Only key less entry now. Actually look pretty clean.

It usually take 30 days for the insurance to settle with the owners of a stolen vehicle. If it’s recovered before then an inspection of the vehicle is done and it’s repaired or replaced or totaled.

Plug in a obd2 reader and read the miles that way. Gauge clustervis probably fryed, also the prn321 gear selector thing shoule be a little cable on the steering colum. When they put that radio in they probably didnt bother imstal the cluster very well

They were in there messing with the ignition switch. They probably knocked it off. It is odd a car guys doesn't know how to put the truck in drive without counting.

Does your truck have the factory tire pressure monitoring system? If so when you put on those copper rims they should have been paired to your trucks t.p.m.s. and your systems would be still on the rims sensor

Based on what I see I’d be willing to bet it was used as a support truck for the runners. They obviously took it jumping in the desert. They took off the lights inside because getting in and out of the truck in the desert you have to be completely dark. No lights inside so if you hit a bump and the door sensor thinks the door is open they don’t come on. Also the rf sensor finds tracking devices and cameras. The other thing is they probably swapped the dash cluster so be sure to try a new one. Also so code scanners will tell you the mileage. Possible they even swapped the ecu if it’s tied to the key. I’ve seen people take a wrecked truck and swap the ignition and ecu into a hot one. Your better off turning that into an off road truck now because it’s likely those few weeks of abuse took years of damage on the truck. You also should get some one with a drug dog to run through the truck to make sure there isn’t anything hidden inside any of the door panels or dash or any frame rails. They have been known to hide stuff inside fake metal trap doors and frame rails so the cutting wheels comes in handy if they need to retrieve it. The ropes and winches can be used to get a runner truck unstuck from the desert who maybe hit something and they’ll use the cutters to get out the stuff and just abandon the truck in the desert. After watching every episode of boarder wars and every boarder patrol show ever I’ve seen it all lol

I’d do anything just to have it back. It’s believed to be in the New York area from what I’ve been told but I have no clue. I’m at the point to where I don’t think I’ll ever see it back. It sucks.

They definitely have a hidden compartment somewhere in that dash for the mileage being messed up they would have been in that dash to have messed it up.

if the truck is an XLT or a KR (i didn't notice in the episode) it will have RF transponders in the keys. the info for that is stored in the guage cluster, which has to match the PCM also. the theives probably had to replace the ignition lock, guages, and pcm in order to use the truck for whatever the bastards were doing

Hi You can get a custom made ignition lock made for the steering column for your truck, also remove the locks on the doors, order in rear door handles use them on the front that’s if your key fob works still unless you went aftermarket immobilizer

They had to be using it to steal anhydrous ammonia. The hitch was changed out so they could hook onto the containers. Lights are all gone so they could stay dark at night even with doors open.

I had bought a van used to do the same thing is why I say that. Hope yall can bring her back to her former glory. Now is a great time for color matched road armor or ranch hand bumper replacements. Maybe even a newer model front clip swap? That interior really made me sick. Any time I see a king ranch I expect the epitome of luxury interior and it's hard to find replacements that aren't worn at least that bad. The part yall found at the end of the video looks like a bumper bracket. Which sparks the question. How is the front bumper still holding on? I've owned exclusively ford's my whole (driving) life. If the truck has a throttle cable you can improve throttle response by using a couple zip ties as spacers (the cables get stretched over time) also please thoroughly inspect brake lines. That could be the source of the soft brake pedal.

Depending on what year you bought the tires the last two digits of the dot number on the Tires will tell the manufacturer date and that could math the receipts maybe

I no some wheels if u had them installed with tpms sensors the truck remembers them u have to user a code scanner and wheels have be close to your truck I believe each wheel sensor will have a code when u scan it to

I've had 2 6.0 Super Duty trucks stolen from me. My 1st one was in 2020, and my 2nd one was in 2021. My 1st one was never recovered, but my 2nd one was recovered just a few days before my birthday in 2021. Those meth heads completely trashed the inside as well as the bed of my truck and kept kept all my tools and my brand new toolbox
