Looking at the registration numbers on those vans, I’d say the place has been abandoned since the late 1990’s and literally left frozen in time. The MK1 Transit is very rare now and I’ve seen a restored example sell for around £20,000 locally. Most of the other vans are past saving from the looks of them. Very strange how the place wasn’t taken over, or assets sold off though.

For everyone asking about the mk1, it isn't abandoned, and was stored here in mint condition until people started breaking in, and I mean just restored perfect condition. Building is now secured again, and the mk1 is in the process of being restored, again... This whole site has a hell of a tale behind it, but not my place to share.

The hanging frames in drying room were for drying overcoats, workjackets etc., the circular pockets on the frames were for drying footwear by placing each workboot/welly upside down in circular frame. That's why there is a radiator in middle of room.

I bought a Ford Mk 1 camper van about 1998ish in its original condition I was the 3rd owner , it had a 1600cc petrol engine in it which for the size of the van was under powered , I went down to Devon in it and covered over a thousand miles in a week , it was in good nick except when I got back home the head gasket went and I had to have a new one fitted it wasn't very practical for running round with the kids because the insurance company would only agree to insure it for two people to travel in it because of the configuration with no possibility of seat belts in the back , so I sold it to a mate who wanted to use it to go to motorbike shows , looking back I wish I'd have kept it and put a 2litre motor in it . But hay ho you live and learn , that's why I've got no money left to busy living and learning , such is life . 😂😎😜
