Broken glass from bottles , jars , etc . , is turned into smooth , frosted "Sea Glass " through the friction with the moving water and sand .

North Atlantic beaches aren't as renowned as Sanibel for shell collecting, but that doesn't mean you can't find fantastic shell treasures here!

Those whelks and scallops are amazing! That intact Knobbed whelk was awesome. Interesting how it was further from the water in the vegetation. Very cool beach walk!

So I honestly think these whelks were washed up during some sort of storm surge or super high tide...I see this often in New England as well - larger(albeit, weathered shells), end up in the upper vegetation of the beach. This all makes exploring that much for fun! Thanks for watching!

I love how you go to the northern Atlantic beaches too. Florida shelling is so different from the northern beaches. Great content 👍🏻

This area is actually where I am from originally and where I live! I am only able to film in Florida when I visit family there, which is usually a couple of times per year. I am planning a trip to a sub-arctic location soon - stay tuned! 😀 Thanks for watching!

If you do go to the North Fork to shell , be sure to go to both its north shore ( for the rocky Long Island Sound beaches) and its south shore (for its sandy Peconic Bay beaches ) . It is a beautiful area !
