The government does not grow anything, all you have in government is people who shuffle paper work & resources around, at least in America. Because in America we've been having the same challenges in regards to food lines... with the elderly. To me it was pretty damn eye opening/unnerving. This was pretty cool of "Asian boss'' to do.. but obviously its only going to help, 1 day. No one is saying other countries don’t have issues. Nearly 50% of Koreans above the age of 65 live under the poverty line. That is nearly double other developed countries (including the US) and 4x the OECD average. What she’s saying is that it’s strange because respect for those older than you is extremely high here, so you’d think they’d be better taken care of. That’s all.

Partly youth unemployment is an issue because youth is looking for quite specific jobs. They aren't willing to work for smaller and less known companies. Many young people are interested in becoming public servants, and they spend years "studying for a test" (and no, the vast majority of them doesn't even bother looking for part-time jobs, because they know their parents will keep paying their bills).

I know most people like to say that, but when you really think about it, it's actually quite stupid. It literally means that every second of every day, there is ONE person on planet who has it worse than EVERYONE else, so ALL those other people should be "THANKFUL" they aren't THAT person. See how retarded it actually is? There is no limit on the amount of misery and tragedy and sadness that can be happening on the planet at the same time. It's not a commodity like gold, where there is an absolute limit on how much has been extracted from the planet and how much is left. So just because someone thinks someone else has it "worse" in NO way means their life magically becomes less horrible. Sure, you can try to make yourself feel better by telling yourself you are "lucky" not be "that" person, but in NO way does it change the things that are bad in your own life. As I said, there is a limitless supply of misery after all.

And just because you mentioned a few exceptional Pakistani women doesn't make it a progressive place for women. If anything they are exceptional because it's a rough place for women. You yourself mentioned the gang rape that goes on in some parts of the country not to mention the practice of honor killing or beatings of the victims in those areas as well. How convenient to simply dismiss these societal problems as only happening in more rural areas as if it's separate from the rest of the country. Asian Boss, Blessings to all of you for doing your part in caring for our humanity in feeding these beautiful elderly people. I wish that people who have the means to do something and help actually come out and do this also so they can save lives. Let's show our humanity by being good humans.

Thank you guys for helping them, really. I got emotional too when you guys ran out of the bowls of food and had to give out bread and a bar/drink but food is food and giving out what you can give to them in order to survive is really generous of you guys.

Thank you for showing how lots of elderly around the world goes hungry, even a rich nation like South Korea. It just remind me that most of the senior citizen lining up experienced World War 2 and it’s heartbreaking that they live their remainder of their life this way, if it’s not for you or other people’s generosity, these seniors will go hungry. My Heart aches. My father died 20 years ago and I can still see him with each and one of them. Thank you Asian Boss. I saw that I can do a small part in giving.

Three things on this video really broke my heart. 1. The elderly who opened his lunchbox and probably thinking he'll divide it into 3 for lunch, dinner and breakfast until he can line up for the next meal where there's no guaranty if he can get one. 2. The elderly towards the end who came on time and probably who walked a long way just to get a meal . 3. When you said "It is what it is.", it really broke my heart because it's the reality. Thank you to all of you who took time to help the elderlies. God bless and please stay safe.

Stephen please consider me or do not forget me I'm blessed to have survived abuse. I dealt with a lot living in the U.S. I know at some point I will make the move overseas. I love History and Asian culture. Afghanistan is a poor nation I would visit just to see the origins of my father's past. Buddha is strong there

Heartbreaking was the actual word I was thinking when watching this and right when that word entered my mind, that is how Stephen described this situation. And when I saw the two that were in both the motorized wheelchair and the scooter,... it reminds us that many of us have so much to be thankful for. It also makes me feel like a glutton when I think about getting just to get a snack. In what reality is this right, when some people have SO MUCH wealth? And when Mike Kim, the young man said “People were knocking on the door because they were so hungry...” I share videos like this with people I know regularly and it is amazing the responses I can get : “This is in another county, why do you care?” or, “You’re not even Korean, you’re Italian, why do you care so much?” This leaves me speechless. There are people who I know that are kind and intelligent. Much of humanity has become so desensitized. Thank you for all your hard and amazing work that you do. Not that what you do is little but it does show that’ if everyone CARED, just a little bit of effort could go a long way. I have gotten so many of my friends to follow ASIAN BOSS on KZbin. Again, thank you for all you do.

Thank you for what you are doing Asian Boss! I'm in Beijing and I see jobless migrant workers on street but there is no media coverage here... I hope things get better, but the growing despair is unstoppable... I was an exchange student in SNU and did investigation on churches' role in the elderly in Korea. I wonder if those organizations that helped the elderly on a regular basis before are also getting into troubles or cannot funtion well because of social distancing... 많이 속상해요.

Not only this story touched my heart. But I was especially moved by the fact that your founder&CEO participates in these videos himself, taking risks as well, and not hiding behind his employees. You are an incredible team. To speak for those who may not be heard, to tell the truth - this means to do something. But in addition to this, you are taking active steps to make this world a better place. Please accept my great respect.

Pope Francis once said: “If exercised with basic respect for the life, freedom and dignity of persons, political life can indeed become an outstanding form of charity”. I wish men like yourself and the Korea Legacy gentleman and lady can consider going into politics, and turn your country into a welfare community. God Bless the elders, God bless you folks.

@@puananihoku7302 In every country lies that portion of people who are financially unstable unfortunately, and there lies several reasons. South Korea is doing a pretty great job in handling the virus and the population is smart too. The elderly people are being helped, we know it's not enough but thankfully there are good people who still help. :)
@puananihoku73024 жыл бұрын
@@nancynahnigoh3550 you are right, I dont know, do you? But there are important information on the internet, libraries that state these that many of the suicides that are happening in Korea are the elderly because they are uneducated, from the rural areas, lack of a welfare system to help, and being a burden on their families who do not feel its required to take care of their parents anymore. Of course there are problems all over the world. and so there is in Korea too.
@nancynahnigoh35504 жыл бұрын
Sandara Puanani I don’t know the inside stories , even I seen in the internet’s I won’t believe hundred percent unless I am there to witness by myself then I will say so cos I understand younger generations have to work hard and the living cost very high and they stay other part of many places some of it , you cannot safe anything of your earning at the end their elderly left alone or may be they don’t want to burden their family members that what I knew the homeless in my country

watching you hand out food to the elders of your community literally brought tears to my eyes. Korea of course is not the only country with poor elders, but there´s just so little a lot of countries do against hunger and poverty. Seeing that there were still elders waiting in line after you ran out of lunchboxes, made me feel like my food got stuck in my throat, wishing I could give some home cooked meal to them myself... I really really wish I could do something about it!

Thank you for shedding light on these humans. I used to teach in Gupo, Busan and I saw so many elderly in poverty everyday collecting cans and cardboard boxes. I was shocked. I even heard gun shots sometimes at night. I suspect some just hated this poor life and wanted to end it. :( I learned that their children often abandon them and there are no retirement homes or programs to take care of them .Its horrible.
