After 3 years, just tell the guy "too bad", and sell them to whomever comes forward with money and transportation!

I sold a horse trailer to a gentleman who was serving in the military. He asked me before he bought the item if would be okay if I could hold it until he got back stateside and I told him that would be fine. Roughly 8 months later he picked up the trailer and gave me a really nice basket of meats. It all depends on the person.

Send him a certified letter giving him 30 days to pick up the tractors. If he doesn't show up cut your losses call the scrap dealer. Salvage what cash you can out of the situation. Make every future sale come with a 30 day removal requirement.
@jamesbancroft44219 күн бұрын
I would tell the buyer times up, you have just forfeited the tractors, and liquidate them however you see fit. 3 years is way to long to hold something. Maybe in the auction or sales rules you could specify the time limit for an item to be picked up and if not picked up in that time period the item will be resold.

Send a guy a registered letter stating that He has 90 days to pick up the tractors or you're going to be selling that's it your problems over😊

In my state if they leave there stuff on your property for over 30 days it becomes abandoned property and the land owner can dispose of the abandoned property how he sees fit. Call your local state's attorney like I did.

Sir you are 💯% correct. There's only so much a person can take, I do have a couple of questions for you and the doc if it's not too much. 1st one is if the outer 28 inch rim of a 49 8n would fit on a 70 international 2444? 2nd is there any way to install dual rear remotes on the 2444. I've been searching and can't find much info on it. I live in South Texas so I can't take it to you. If you can help thank you very much, if not I understand and thank you as well.

You need to have a bill of sale that states how long the buyer has to remove purchase, or the sale is void. That way the buyer knows up front what the terms are and you're not stuck holding equipment forever.

I’ve had Toro 5xi garden tractors since 2012, as they multiply I now have 3 usable tractors and 2 parts tractors. Them along lots of attachments and parts from other tractors, a Dixie Chopper 50”, my 5x10 trailer and my 2nd Ford Ranger all are in private storage on an old farm. I still have lots of projects I’d like to finish but the property owner lady is 85 and using a Walker. My mom who I share an apartment with is 88 and no spring chicken. November I decided it’s time to sell most of it. I’m 58 and I’ve had Lyme since the early 80’s, diagnosed in 2013. A person just has to know their limits. I still have my Lionel train collection. Problem right now is it’s the worst time to the year to sell lawn equipment and parts.

Sell 'em......that guy went out on a limb to buy them and was trying to just flip them and his buyers fell through and is now singing "Gloom, despair and agony on me... Deep dark depression, Excessive misery.....If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all....Gloom, despair and agony on me...."
@michaeldecheck39989 күн бұрын
I buy at Auctions 24 hrs to remove what I purchased or the sale is VOID. That should be your policy

@nunyabuziness84218 күн бұрын
People mistake your kindness for weakness and I think at this point he forfeited those tractors so go ahead and resell them. If I were you the policy would be payment in full at time of purchase and you have one month to pick up or it'll be storage fees weekly and after 2 months they forfeit their purchase and don't give any titles until they're picked up

sold a car years ago.guy paid in full, didnt show for months...seeked legal advice and was told I must keep in the same condition. That was in Canada. Maybe different if one puts on the bill of sale ..it becomes property of the seller if not removed in i.e. 3 months?
@rexkramer49389 күн бұрын
Well at this point I’d have them up for sale. I knew a guy that was a wheeler dealer and he’d buy stuff and leave it wherever it was in hopes he could turn a buck on it and not have to touch it.

I would say calling your landlord out as a "little two year old" is not the wisest thing. Otherwise sell the tractors and tell the guy to pound sand.

What system do auctions use to get rid of equipment after they are sold at auction?
@EugeneMartin959 күн бұрын
Auction give you a set time to pick it up or it will get sold and if sells for less it is your loss

I would love to buy stuff clear across the nation but then reality strikes and i think it through. Having it shipped is pricey let alone trusting the person on the other end. Friend just did it and got a good deal and it all went well but he was nervous until it actually showed up. Ive got a few stories going the other way.
@BrodieBr09 күн бұрын
THREE YEARS? Yeah you can't let them take advantage of your kindless like that. Time to make contracts with lot storage fees and and abandonment clause. You're kind enough to take payments for your tractors as it is, let alone them still taking up your space THREE YEARS LATER. Yeah, crap happens as you said but if it was me I'd find a way to get the tractors home or consider it a loss as you said.
@tanyajody94849 күн бұрын
Move them to your storage yard and bill him every year for a $1000 one option. Option 2 just resell them, seems like a hand shake agreement so move on. It will be a long time before buyer comes to terms with a to far purchase. I there was a written agreement at time of sale well that might change things, you might be bound by it in terms of something ending in small claims court. If not then move on …..quickly
@waynelee73808 күн бұрын
Dave I agree with you enough is enough. If it's left for over a year I would say they are not going to come and get them. I would call the guy or if you have his address send him a registered letter explaining that he has so many days to pick them up or you are going to sell them to someone else.

I guess i have never understood... Why buy something if you don't have the means to move it, or don't intent to arrange pickup within a week. I have seen this at farm sales and auctions, auction houses, and household sales. It just doesn't make sense. Pick up your acquisitions or surrender them.

I sell hay often times farmers call want to buy everything come over write 1 big check then leave hay sits in my sheds all year its not mine so i call them fucking scream into the phone they discover im not nice at all & come over. The dealership sales guys ive dealt with know me know my rocky clay soil so they always talked me into buying small tractors under 130hp wear down fast that's what they want when i bought the 2470case on my own case dealership was so mad WOULD NOT sell me filters

After all this time, I would sell them to who really wants it, and can come pick them up. This long a time, there is no excuse, it is their loss, and your gain.
