In the early 70’s in my days in forensic pathology, one of our laboratory experts was a Dutchman, a school teacher and resistance agent during the war, he still had some of his resistance equipment, small radio set. He is remembered in the Australian War Museum. It was a great privilege to have known and worked with him. I served with the RAF in post war Germany in the mid 1950’s. I learnt a great deal about those quiet resistance people. May they rest in eternal peace.

I once met a SOE Agent on a train in London: an Oxford languages Don, he was a speccy little nerd, reading a book in Farsi (which is how we got talking) and exactly the opposite of what you'd expect a secret agent to look like... Which is exactly what you want if you're dropped into WWII Yugoslavia to liase with Tito's resistence forces - a true hero!

A tribute to the men and women of resistance movements all throughout Europe during this terrible time in history. It is difficult to know the full extent of their pain and suffering as they risked everything to win back the freedom of their people. Most were simple people of simple means doing things that were not so simple. Thanks for sharing this wonderful movie.

I have a goal to lay flowers at as many memorials to those nameless resistance fighters as I can to thank them for helping save countless allied lives while knowing that many of their comrades we're being captured, tortured and murdered by Hitler's henchmen. It's very possible that the immeasurable courage of those men and women, boys and girls made it safer for my father when he entered France during early 1945. He survived.

Whenever I go to France Belgium Holland or any other European country being ex-military myself I always visit the war memorials and always put a poppy cross or a poppy @the memorials, & I write a short note of gratitude on the poppy cross, For all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice both military and civilian, so that we can live free today. In war there are no winners. My Dutch grandfather was captured by the Gestapo and tortured but he survived My mother said he was never ever the same again he died when I was very young

A very very good and much needed movie highlighting the countless, selfless and inventive missions of the underground with minimal resources and maximum courage regardless of the danger to themselves. They knew how many lives could be at stake if they didnt play numerous parts in human historys biggest conflict. So many of these resistance fighters deserved medals and credit they will never get individually - freedom always comes at a price, and the color of that price is red.

Them ww2 boys had some serious balls. The resistance.. No words for them. Women fought along side the men.. We as Americans and our allies. Kicked hitlers ass. Even when he called total war. And called up every man woman an child. When all was lost. We owe a special thanks to the air force. Too.. They sacrificed dearly especially the bomber crews.. Great movie thanks for the upload.

Our dear old neighbour, was born in 1927, moved from Brittany to Paris as a very young girl, by the time of the German occupation she was 15 years old. Her elder sister and her escorted downed air men from both the RAF and USAF out of Paris as far as the Pyrenees, they did 6 trips. Its only my interest in the resistance that she told me the stories. Two young girls , in their teens, they sought no reward or recognition, they did it for the love of their country and for those fighting for them. She's also one of the nicest, quietest and unassuming person l know, and to me, the bravest person I've ever met, or ever will.

@@twright3802 He may just mean " in the process of " or "seeking to ", which many, here and from other countries but who are involved with people in powerful positions here, admittedly are. Although I'd be careful to watch out for what rights we sign away ( by becoming a ward of the State, of the US Inc. ). There's plenty of unconstitutional stuff going on, in " broad daylight " by governing authorities all over the USA, and for that matter, by the presidents and others of that era ( 1940s etc. ) as well.

Right now. People being silenced on social media because they don't tow the line of vax/mask, only cdc "science" is allowed. Dr's being banned for "misinformation". With the SM companies happily kicking anyone off. Acting like publishers not supposed platforms. Then the gv looking to further restrictive gun laws & eventually disarming all. Which is their goal. Dementia joe says you can't fight big militaries with rifles. Tell that to Ukraine, or to the russians & us who spent billions & lost thousands in places like afganistan as well as many other places. They want complete control and power over all. And will not let little things like Our Constitution get in the way. Either restricting Our Rights, erasing them or simply not giving a damn if we still have them, acting like they don't exist. It is not our gov anymore...it's theirs.

Lots of movies overstate it. Yes the French resistance existed but there were a lot of collaborators as well. And I'm talking about every day people, not just the horizontal collaborators. The de gaul mythos of "France was free by the french." Was a decades long delusion. I recommend the Stanford French history guy KZbin college class. The way he covers both the vichy, collaborators, resistance, and de gaul era... super good

Contrary to the video description, John Seabourne is absolutely not "US special forces". He is British (as should be evident from the accent) and a member of the SOE (British Special Operations Executive). I suppose the assumption is just made that when someone hears 'special' that it must be American. That said, this film shows what can be done with a limited budget, decent writing, an interesting story and some good actors.

Great acting and a really good movie..the item of negative comment is the weapons not discharging like real guns....especially the last scene.

Our heroes of WWII were dying to preserve the greatness of Christian culture they saw at risk but did not want to lose. After the War came the real war, Vatican II, and the real casualty: Catholic decency.
