Not all cats are the same. My cat loves playing hide and seek and tag with me and I use my instincts to see what she wants. Playing with hands is okay unless you hate getting scratched. It doesn't hurt for me and I like the mark because it reminds me that I played with her and we had a great time but yea toys are more fun but I use hands sometimes to get her attention. It really depends on what mood your cat is in

A tip with the waterless shampoo! DO NOT directly spray it onto your cat! Cats are afraid of the noise and will be shook by water blasting at them lol (I learned this the hard way). Spray it into a brush and then comb through their fur with that! xoxo

Why would you wash your cat at all? I see it so often on American KZbin channels, that they wash their cats. Is this a thing? The only time when it's ok to wash a cat is when he is outside and got himself dirty. Cats clean themselves A LOT. Why wash them?

Although 2 times a year is a safe maximum amount, but I wouldn't reccomend it. Cats, especially Bengals, are quite capable of cleaning themselves and you certainly should do it just because a certain period of time pasted. Unless they fell in mud something else which has led to a strong smell or an overwhelming amount of dirt the cat is not capable or cleaning, I would not reccomend bathing them. To be fair, washing a cat 2 times a year will not have any negative implications. If you do it too often, they lose essential oils (also it may be tramatic if they're not used to it). I would still attempt to get Leo used to water whilst he's young, just in case. That doesn't neccessarily mean bathing though, perhaps just seeing if he likes going for a swim. These things need to be done whilst the cat is young, so try if you feel like it.

I've had my cat for 14 years and I have to say that you are definitely doing the "transition thing" right. He should be able to to get to know the place and the best way to do that is to let him explore the house. He seems very comfortable with you from what I could tell from the video. congrats on being a new parent! one more thing-- I recommend you get a cat scratching post so that he doesn't go for your furniture

I have a charcoal bengal cat and a brown one two and I can tell you,its totally normal for him to be running around your house and wanting to play a lot.This is not that fluffy kitty that does nothing all day.They are wild haha.Mines are almost always sicking for attention,but I kinda love that.Also the best thing ever is their fur that not only looks so unique and majestic,but its also easy to take care of.Best wishes to you and your new baby boy!

And, hold him all the time as a kitten and touch his toes and paws a lot or you will never get to hold him as an adult or trim his claws. I have had cats or kittens my whole life. Everyone who says "they don't like to be held" is right but he can learn to be well behaved while being held and carried if you handle him a lot as a kitten. Its not going to hurt him to be held. If you don't do it now, you will never be able to. Its not like your are gonna throw him in a purse and carry him around all day. He will still be free to run around and play most of the time.

I once had a bengal cat. His name was top. He had stomach problem and eventually passed away. A very good reminder Leena if the cat showed any symptoms that she is sick, they are already that deep into a problem. Because cat fake themselves and will not show any kind of sickness signs. Bengels need lots and lots of toys😄 and playtime. I have got a yard and build an enclosure for them. They are 1 years old now and run around a lot. If you dont have a yard you can also buy (when the are a little bit older) a catwheel, perfect for excercise. Enjoy your new family member😻!!

I also have a recommendation for treats! Since my cat also follows a raw diet, trust me they do not like conventional treats. They just like meat lol. I've tried those same blue buffalo treats and he doesn't like them either. Try pure bites freeze dried chicken, churu cat treats (tuna flavor, chicken, scallop, etc.), and the tuna fillets from churu. Also for the raw food some specialty pet shops sell the chicken gizzards, meat, bone, etc. already ground and mixed for them. I don't know where you live, but I'm in LA and there are a lot of them here.

Annisa rm Actually, it’s not just about wet vs dry, because I tried giving my cat canned food multiple times (because the breeder said it was okay to give a bit as a snack when he was a growing kitten). He did not like canned food. I don’t think he sees it as food haha. My dog sometimes eats a cooked meal (just plain meat), and my cat will sniff it but not even eat it. He only likes his raw food, freeze dried chicken breast, those churu cat treat tubes and fish fillets. Very picky haha.

Another relates a time when Muezza was asleep on Prophet Muhammad's robe when the call to prayers sounded. Although most people would have simply shooed away the cat, Prophet Muhammad instead cut off the sleeve of his robe so Muezza could rest in peace. A companion of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam was given the name Abu Hurairah, which means "father of cats." Abu Hurairah radiallahu anhu was given this name because wherever he went, he always had a cat with him. His original name is Abd al Rahman given by Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Abu Huraira went to Makkah with Tufayl to meet the noble Prophet. The blessed Prophet asked him, “What’s your name?” “Abd al-Shams, servant of the sun” replied Abu Huraira. “Instead, let your name be Abd- al-Rahman, servant of the Merciful,” said the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam). If the cat is comfortable out of the room, he's ready to be out of the room. Also cats are naturally potty trained so as long as he has access to his litter box he should be good. Some cats freak out when they are moved and need to be allowed to adjust to one room at a time. My cats were scared of big spaces and kept to themsleves in one room first, then we'd open the door and coax them out and let them run back in. I think Leo is ready to be free in the house. Remember that if he can't get to his litter box, a natural place to go next will be dirty/soiled clothing so be careful with your hampers. You may also want to use a spray scratch repellant for your fabric and/or leather furniture and get a few scratch posts. If he has claws, he will scratch stuff up but if he has something he likes more, he'll scratch that.

I didn't know bengals were hypoallergenic! If you ever look into getting a second cat, you should look into a Siberian Forest cat. They are also hypoallergenic too and absolutely beautiful. I have one and he's the best purchase I've ever made. You can also get a Siberian with lynx point markings. So it'll look like your Bengal but fluffy haha. Also, my Siberian cat follows a raw diet too. I love cats, they're the best! Your cat is absolutely so cute.

I can't remember if you got him a scratcher during the video but I strongly recommend it. It stops the cat from scratching furniture and also if you're doing the transition you must spend time with him. The point of the transition is not to teach them to respect you but to get them used to the house. BTW nearly 1 year!! This is advice for anyone buying/adopting a cat

Bengal Cats are anti-allergic! That's why my neighbors got 2 Bengal kittens, although theyr are highly allergic to cats. They don't have ANY prolems. Just thus breed is bloody expensive.... and you should always have 2!

We kept out cats for awhile in the bathroom (the bigger bathroom we have) and it has a slide door on it.The same day as we put them in there one of the cats opened the slide door already so we had to tape it inside and out

Bengals are high maintenance. But any cat is smart. As long as they know where the litter box is, they will be good for the most part. Also, if you aren't intending on breeding him, at about a year old, you'll want to get him to the vet to get him fixed. Not a bad thing, you just don't want him spraying your furniture when he's in heat. (It's a territory thing) For discipline, a bottle filled with water works great for most cats, a long with the word no. When they do an undesired behavior, such as jumping up on counters, scratching furniture, etc. Spraying them with a little bit of water is usually the best deterrent and saying no reinforces it. Also get a cat tree or small scratching post. That will also limit him scratching the furniture, and will also prevent you from having to trim his claws. Scratching something course keeps their claws from getting too long. You can also train cats to walk on a leash, and that harness is a good one. Just make sure to double up on your patience. I find cats more stubborn than dogs when training to walk on a leash, but it can be done.

@@Huesbydani Yeah, there are cats that like water. We had a long haired one that learned to turn the bath room sink on just enough to drip so she could get a drink. Sometimes she would sit under it in the summer to try and cool off. She knew the difference between cold water and hot water. When cats like water, sometimes you'll have to resort to other options like click training, but that's rare, thankfully.

tbh that bonding technique seems to work best if you keep them in one room (like a bathroom, where they can't go off and hide under things) and only once they get really used to you, start introducing them to the new environment ... but that kitty looks pretty well socialized already to me so i dont think you even need to do that. and like bengals are part wild cat... so you're gonna probably end up dealing with lots of kitty trouble making lmao. part of having cats is, you can't have nice things... at least that's what they say. have fun xD

Cats mostly prefer water and food seperated, just like big cats in nature. I use a water fountain. Because of the running water, animals are triggered to drink more. You’ll notice in the litter box, their pee is getting a lot bigger. It’s also running through a filter, which keeps it fresh and clean. A bowl of water needs to be washed out and refreshed everyday 🐱

Automatic liter boxes are a great investment. They also, have ones that flush if you want to look them up. You have to connect them to water. You can keep his nail clipped down. Also, consider buying a fresh cat grass plant. Lastly, automatic cat toys are great! 😬
