On a more serious note, not angry indeed. He's just scared and feeling cornered. He's in a strange environment with strange people and he's being touched and handled. As cats are both a predator and a prey animal this is him very much feeling like a prey. He's growling to say that if she hurts him he'll hurt her. For the tub part, he's probably also wanting to stay in there and stay low because that way he's hiding, sort of. Not doing a great job of it but staying low with the walls of the tub around feels instinctively safer than being out in the open.

@c.l.368
@c.l.368 7 ай бұрын
where are the chill vibes exactly? All I see is a cat hating his fking life while a stranger manipulates him against his will. Honestly, there's absolutely no reason to do this to the poor thing.
@moldytoiletpaper
@moldytoiletpaper 7 ай бұрын
@@c.l.368 There are reasons! Some owners let their cats outside, the cat gets dirty, and they complain to a groomer. Some cats are neglected by their old owners or owners who cant provide for them, and someone takes it to the groomer because the matts are too hard to get out. There's also that the cat or wtv animal is smelly, has an uneven pelt, and just needs some care.
@c.l.368
@c.l.368 7 ай бұрын
@@moldytoiletpaper When cats get dirty they clean themselves. I've never in my 37 years on this earth met a cat that needed external grooming because they didn't clean themselves. Never met a smelly cat. Cats are not dogs. And even in the ridiculously unlikely scenario that they didn't groom themselves, if the owners had any sense and empathy, THEY WOULD GROOM THE CAT THEMSELVES. Cats are not dogs! They take a long time to trust others and the stress they suffer when being taken outside of their territory is immense. Only reason I see is the owners lack empathy and are ignorant enough not to know that cats don't need to be taken to a groomer.
@moldytoiletpaper
@moldytoiletpaper 7 ай бұрын
@@c.l.368 Certain cats, like Persians, exotic shorthairs and cats with disabilities cannot groom themselves properly. Cats also sometimes don't groom themselves, leaving their fur with dirt stuck in it. People also do not have the materials to groom the cat, and/or might hurt the cat.
@c.l.368
@c.l.368 7 ай бұрын
@@moldytoiletpaper Sorry but that's just silly. Persians and shorthairs can of course groom themselves. If you had said hairless cats (I forget their breed) then maybe... If you can't groom your cat because you hurt him... you shouldn't have a cat ffs! And even if you were right about everything, that would leave groomers like the one in the video without a business because you can't sustain it only with the types of cats you mentioned. Let's be honest, its people who just for whatever reason think normal cats need to be bathed and groomed by random strangers, and they are oblivious/indifferent to the stress they inflict upon them.

Have always found the breed really interesting with their love of water, willingness to play fetch & very distinctive beautiful coat markings! The way animals trust this woman because of her calmenergy is everything…
@roanc3709
@roanc3709 7 ай бұрын
He shat himself out of fear. That’s not trusting. And he had no reason to trust, because she saw he was scared and continued anyway. She has many options for animals scared of the blow dryer that don’t involve forcing them to do it until they evacuate their bowels out of fear (which is a fear response that has the purpose of becoming as light as possible to run away from the threat at the top possible speed the body can manage. That’s how scared this poor little thing was)
@jarofpickles4057
@jarofpickles4057 7 ай бұрын
@@roanc3709 An indoor animal is literally always going to be afraid in a foreign space, especially when their owner isn't there, in the room with them. She can't just stop everything and call the groom finished because the animal is a little bit scared. If the cat was getting violent to display its fear, that would be another thing. She has ended grooms before for that reason.
@roanc3709
@roanc3709 7 ай бұрын
@@jarofpickles4057 that’s not true. Sure an animal is probably going to be a bit nervous, but this is beyond a bit nervous. This cat was so scared it was showing so terrified submission. It was so scared it was emptying its bowels in preparation to flee. Do you realise how terrified a predator descended from wild cats has to be to switch into prey mode? This is a level of fear beyond getting violent with the groomer and it was completely ignored. Violence is not the only signifier of extreme fear, and a groomer should not decide whether it’s appropriate to continue based only on markers that would put them in danger. She could have stopped the groom, she could have used a different method of drying, as she has done before. She instead chose to continue traumatising the cat until it got so scared it evacuated its bowels to prepare to run for its life (because that is the purpose of that fear response). And lest we forget this is immediately after the disgusting previous video where she continuously tried to brush cats that were from the moment she started to interact with them, very obviously in no state to be groomed, simply to get some hissing footage. Acting like this is a normal level of fear to be expected from an indoor cat at a groomers is ridiculous. The most that should be expected is for the cat to be a little spicy. You seem to be assuming that this is the stage of fear before aggression, but it’s actually a stage long after, where the animal is at a point where it is so scared it is not trying to fight back anymore but rather to appease the source of the fear and prepare to run as fast as it can when it has an opportunity. Ignoring that body language is disgraceful. Putting a video of you ignoring it on KZbin to monetise is disgusting.

@@roanc3709 You;'ve made up your mind, cast your judgements, and curated a very severe and passionate story that didn't match what i saw in the video. While your understanding of possible animale behaviors isn't entirely incorrect, that doesn't mean that's what we saw. Many household pets will poop just from being put in a carrier and being nervous about going to the vet - this is a normal response that does not always mean they are being traumatized and abused. If this was the case, every pet owner who's ever had a nervous or anxious cat would then be a monster to you. Out of hundred upon hundreds of videos, a cat evacuating itself is very rare. Maybe put down your pitchforks and look at the larger body of evidence. Any time a pet has been so stressed that it's unsafe to continue, Vanessa has stopped, Stopped recording, and then come back and been transparent about the need for that break the entire time. This cat was not showing signs of dangerous stress levels, which can be exhibited in the 'panting' breathing, how they hold their jaw when doing so, sometimes drooling, etc - this is a sign that the cat is so stressed that its dangerous to their health, and has in fact cause Vanessa to halt the process or choose a gentler method. The method she used today was not the high velocity dryer, but instead the box dryer, which is both less aggressive, and gentler on a cat's sensitive skin. This cat in particular seemed to dislike being moved and 'changing tasks' every time he finally got settled in and accepted each step, at the worst, and while your concern is awesome, it's not as bad as you make it out to be, IMO. If you're truly concerned, report and move on, and stop watching. Simple.

As a Bengal owner, yes they are extremely vocal. When our kitty was only three months old she was able to bellow so loud it sounded like another animal was in the house! She has an even wider range of sounds now, including chittering when she hunts(which our other cat tries to imitate, but it sounds like squeals instead of a wildcat hunting like Rani) And yeas they love water! Rani has always been curious and she loves to play in water. At one point we had to do some work on some pipes under the bathtub and she went under to listen to the water as it went through the pipes. As far as I know bengals are very good pets and very loving and playful. In Rani’s case, she’s not a cuddly cat, but she does have periods of time where she is fiercely affectionate and she’s very attached to us!

There are many bengal-specific breed rescues, hybrids have grown massively in popularity and are often surrendered to shelters because their behavior can be a crapshoot-as you’d expect when you hybridize wild and domestic animals. 😕 Don’t get one just because they’re pretty (they are!) but they’re also essentially exotic pets. They have incredibly high energy needs and prey drives and may not behave 100% like a domestic cat.
