Shaun’s smile when he got out of that tractor. 😂😂😂😂

Wow, immaculate appearance for a 2003! Triples are a nice functional and visual add - and in many soil types and conditions - can outperform tracks and are cheaper to operate. Nice find and hopefully it gives you plenty trouble free hours for years to come. Thanks for sharing!

Nice new tractor! Now all you need is a machine shed to keep it in . Looks like you are going to have to fight Shaun for who gets to run the 450 . Keep up the good work and stay safe!

Gonna need a shed to cover some of that iron-to protect from those Canadian winters
@marlenekutcher9383 жыл бұрын
No salt around the farm to rust out the metal. Colder areas in Canada don't use salt on roads because it won't melt the ice. Sand works good and our government is testing a sugar beet concoction sprayed on the roads here in Ontario. This tractor will be babied I'm sure.

Very nice! I'm sure you won't be disappointed with th 450. The fuel systems seem to be a bit more finicky than the old ones. There is a "pre-filter" on the driver's side of the engine basically right above the black step near the tire. It's a few inches long. Unscrew it and be sure to keep it clean. We had some algae growing in our tank and have to clean that screen often.

tidy old stx , I like the 9270 as well, tuff old tractor's , when we bought second hand machines I'd always change out the all the oils and filters for the oils we use that way you know that it's fresh and that you know that it's the same as in rest of your equipment because you don't the service history , that way you can start to keep your own log 👍😁

We have a 2011 STX 485 & it doesn't look like too much has changed in the cab. It looks like the corner post display is a little different. They are good tractors. I really like our 485. Good luck with the new tractor & with spring planting.

Nice ride there northern farmer. Hope ole Smokey is still around !! Tell Shaun he can't drive the new tractor unless he starts talking a little bit 🤣🤣🤣 . My two cents worth on the oil change. That tractor has been TAKEN care of . I can't see the old owner using a cheaper product just because he was selling it. Them old timers loved thier machines

@repairrestoreresell20263 жыл бұрын
You should probably change the oil, here's why. The head mechanic at a heating oil co. I worked for ran 5W30 synthetic as called for in the gasoline engine service vans. He changed the oil filter every 3,000 miles, and the oil every 10,000 miles. I don't know his change intervals on the diesel powered oil trucks. but since you don't know what the prior change regiment was, it's best to start fresh. it's cheap insurance. Best of luck, Stay Healthy................................

I would definitely change the oil on that beast. You don't know what type or weight of oil used. They could have used left over oil from their Briggs and Stratton stock. How do you know they warmed the engine or let it drain completely. There's a lot of peace of mind in knowing it's done correctly and to your standards. Oil is much less expensive than a lil related engine failure. Nice tractor!!

Change that oil and the filters. It's too easy not to. And throw away anything Fram, just because they cost more doesn't mean they weren't made in the same factory right beside the proven cheaper junk ones. Just my 2 cents. Tractor looks great

I like changing all the fluids and filters on any new to me equipment. Then I'm sure what's in it and when it was done. That also lets me check all the fluids being drained for metal, water or sludge. That oil may have been changed 10hrs ago but with what and how long was it before it's previous change, they may have done it just before the sale because it was way overdue. Oil is still a lot cheaper than overhauls. BTW we use T6 5/40 oil in all our equipment, it ain't cheap......but it starts better in the cold and goes longer between changes with better protection especially in turbocharged engines. Nice tractor.

You could sample the oil, send it in for analysis, to determine the amount of contaminants, metal wear indicators, etc also would let you know about engine wear i used to do it on all diesel motors but they raised the cost to $18 from $13, it is still cheap insurance especially on a more expensive tractor.
