One major error this game: none of us caught that Dina's trigger is 1 life loss, not loss equal to life gained, so the life totals end up lower than they should be. However, it doesn't alter the outcome of the game. EDIT: Also Exquisite Blood would've prevented Aetherflux Reservoir from killing Oaf, which does change the outcome (the game continues with Jade at infinite life). None of us caught that, sorry folks! Also some minor errors: Verazol should've had 6 counters not 4.

Also the extort is on dina cast so the first dina trigger shouldn't have happened as the extort resolved on her cast

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it have been impossible for Jade to get the Reservoir kill on Oaf because of exquisite blood? Paying 50 life triggers EB before the damage to Oaf resolves, so they will always cancel out. Granted, Jade was in a position to gain infinite life, but with EB on the board I have to wonder if Oaf was running a copy of some Sanguine Bond effect as well and could have had an out with an infinite damage combo. Edit: As soon as I posted this I saw that someone else commented the same thing while I was typing this up, oops. I still loved the video Tomer!
@utoobcrack2 жыл бұрын
at 5:06 Oaf tells the group that they take an additional 3 from Dina's ability, but extort would resolve first on the stack before Dina. This means that the extort trigger resolves before Dina is on the battlefield. So Oaf's opponents wouldn't lose the additional 3 damage here. Ah the joys of paper magic XD

Love to see MrCombo on here, CMD Tower is one of the best commander podcasts out there.
@Platapus12342 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't the Exquisite Blood make Oaf essentially immune to the Aetherflux? Every time they'd pay 50 life to deal 50 damage, Oaf'd gain 50 off the Exquisite trigger since that'd be put on top of the damage on the stack. Am I understanding that correctly? Then again Jade would be at a theoretical infinite life so it'd be very hard to win through that but not impossible ig

If you pay 4 into X for Verazol, it enters with 6 +1/+1 counters on it because it enters with a +1/+1 counter on it for each mana spent to cast it. That includes the coloured mana in its mana cost. Dunno if it would have made a difference this game, just FYI.

This is my favorite approach to “short and sweet” content I’ve seen so far. No hate on MTGMuddstah and similar creators, but I just find that approach really unentertaining. Seeing the game being played and getting at least a little bit of banter is so much more satisfying to me.

At 5:00 Dina is still on the stack when Oaf pays for the extort trigger, so she doesn't see it and his opponents should have lost only 1 life each. Dina makes opponents lose only 1 life whenever he gains life also, not lose life equal to the amount of life gained...

Has nobody told you that choosing that before you start is how you play Archenemy? Like, fam, you've been the threat since Turn -1. Even if you were only running the Uncommon & Rare 'walkers from War of the Spark, you would still have been the threat. I'm so sorry if nobody told you that your deck is Archenemy every time. Hopefully you'll get some of your Schemes to go off next game.

Verazol should have entered with 6 counters on turn 4. "Enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it for EACH mana spent to cast it." Also, like everybody mentionned big Oof rules wise but it is entirely normal to miss weird interaction/rules. Interesting game nonetheless

I remember when that liberal Spice8rack had a video about Kentaro, which surprisingly wasn't secret communist propaganda disguised as a deck tech. Kentaro might be a gimmicky deck that needs 4 more tutors to actually work consistently enough, but if you get lucky it's really good, and it's also a super-fun type of shenanigan. Any chance you'll slip a Kentaro into your Tribal Tribal deck Tomer? would it be too much build around?
