As a moroccan, i know that some people have bad intention when helping tourists but i think that Andrew was making everything dramatic...

Yes, some do have bad intentions when helping tourist, and as tourists we wanted to highlight our experiences truthfully so people can prepare themselves and see the signs of a scam before they happen to them. Morocco is a beautiful country with so many helpful and kind people that will drop everything to help you, but through our experience we needed to show both sides so people can understand how to prepare to visit cities like Fes and common scams you will come across when visiting. The intention was not to be dramatic. Many people in the shops and riads see these scams happen in the Medinas and warn tourists like us before going out into the city.

Hi Kait & Andrew, I was waiting your visit to Fes. Fes, the heart of Morocco, 1200 years of history and civilisations in Morocco. The architecture of the riads and tiles work are amazing to admire, you will go to Spain and see many similarities between Morocco and the south of Spain. Sad for some people..I do recommand to have a guide in Fes to guide you, especialy the narrow streets of the old Medina. Wish you enjoy your visit and your stay in Morocco, and best journey to Spain. Trying to visit the old medina of Fez for the first time without a guide is not really the best idea one may have. First you would see almost literally nothing (which you obviously did). The Medrassas (old schools), the meseums (especially the Batha museum), the andalusian park of Jnane sbil and the most imortant sooks are actually a must see. With a good guide for around 300-500 DH, you might have seen all this within 5 to 6 hours. But if you should go the Alhambra (Granada), which the greatest touristic highlight Spain has to offer, you will be able to see the most important things you have missed in Fez. Everything you'll see there is copy/paste from the Medrassas and palaces of Fez and everything there has been made by Fassi (from Fez) hands, just like the Islamic Art Gallery in the Metropolitan Muesum of Art in New York: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZiZlIeirKeHqM0

The city of Fez is the second largest major city in Morocco, but officials do not pay much attention to this city. The unemployment rate is very, very high, and there are no job opportunities for residents, no companies, no transport and logistics companies, nothing, no green places, nothing. It is a city neglected by officials, and it is rife with corruption. The administration and management of this city is its reality, so how do they want to organize the World Cup when it is a major city that is functionally and structurally neglected? As for the lies that they tell the world and all the tourists, it is not the truth. Rather, the truth is that it is a very neglected city of Fez that suffers from a severe shortage of job opportunities, projects and infrastructure.
