@@Nicofilms I've just realised my own daughter also got married in 2018 - just four months before you in the UK where we are based. She and her husband (English) had just spent an extended honeymoon of almost 10 months in the Far East but I don't think they went to China.

Congrats. What a story. You never mentioned it but one of the most striking features in your wedding photo shoot are the flapping flags with the prominent word "HAN" on them. It almost looks as if a decorator planted them on the wall for your celebration. The word "HAN" seems to announce that you are joined in matrimony the Chinese way. (10:36) The significance of these flags might be lost on you at this time, but you'll see it the longer you live in China.

Oh our special red Chinese marriage books. One for me, and one for my lovely Chinese wife. In my book, my details come first, in my wife's book, her details come first. We look after these with our life. From our marriage office, we went directly to the special Chinese solicitors, who authenticated an English translation. We were married many years ago in my wife's home city of Harbin, in Heilongjiang province, up on the Russia border. Then we had a few photos by St. Sophia church, before having all our professional photos some days later. A wonderful experience, never to be forgotten. Graham

意思大概： Nico 回溯她在中国结婚的小插曲，他们父母希望是有一个正式的西方婚礼，但是他们还是确定在中国结婚。和中国婚姻登记和办喜酒在不同一天的·习惯，他们计划了登记那天接着庆祝一下，他们带着所有准备好的文件到了婚姻登记处，发现外国人在中国结婚登记过程需要翻译，他们花了半天找到一个朋友急急忙忙的赶到，当他们登记的时候原来办公人员会说英语而且表格也是带英文的，之后在很短的时间就办好了手续， 接着他们按原定计划赶去了长城拍婚纱照留念，当他们到了长城的时候，天气挺冷，基本没有游客，他们自己加起三脚架利用相机的自拍，利用当时刚适合的日落光线，拍下了他们满意的纪念照片， 之后他们就在长城旁边一处他们已经预定的酒店过夜，最后的洞房夜，无法描述。特别补充， 他们选择了圣诞节那天。

So special experience. If it weren't for your sharing, I might never know that foreigners need to register marriage in China with such regulations. But I think most of the register officer still could not speak English in China, so the mandatory "translator regulation" is really helpful in most cases. Of course, as you mentioned, the relative instruction should be more clearly illustrated on line. BTW in China, people really don’t wear a wedding dress on the day they get a marriage certificate. I think you are probably the only one who wears a wedding dress to register for marriage in that office, haha.

Yes I definitely was! I spoke to a friend though who's two foreign friends had got married here and she said they got told to go away and get changed so thought better to dress up but we were wrong haha Yes I'm not sure what the problem was I think maybe it was more to have a 'witness' than a translator either way I'm pleased we could solve the problem.
