Excellent food video! So many different types of noodles, the bbq, and the famous Beijing duck. You are making me mouthwatering . Be careful, if you eat like this every day, you will become a meal ball, not pretty anymore. It’s easy to put on weigh, but very difficult take it off.

Interestingly enough, I was in Taipei for a year as an internation student and never came across bubble tea. This was in 1996. But I did eat lots of shaved ice with toppings. That was awesome.

Cauliflower is great in a dish named Spicy Dry Pot, it's the dry version of Malatang and some people like me even prefer it over Malatang because it's stir fried and tastier.

Oh my! I am hungry now! What to do? I love noodles too. Here in Malaysia, we have different noodles too, prepared and cooked in a variety of ways. One of my favourites is the curry noodles. I also love char kway teow, flat noodles wok fried in dark/or light soy sauce, chilli paste and eggs with cockles and crunchy beansprouts thrown in the mix - Yummy! A comfort food on a dark cold night hehehe. I love mushrooms too, especially shitake mushrooms with their woody and earthly taste. Besides, shitake mushrooms are said to have some medicinal value. And yes, cauliflowers taste delicious stir fried and cooked in the Asian way! This is a well presented "the food I love" food vlog - one yummy temptation after another! So dangerous to one's food longing hehehe.......

Been to Dadong in Beijing it's next to the Beijing Guoan football stadium. I remember there was a football game there, and the atmosphere was awesome. Heaps of football supporters entering the stadium and when the game started you can hear the crowd. The restaurant is expensive though it's like 5 star dining, the food was great.

I heard from a TianJin friend that old school JianBing stalls don’t stock the eggs or the dough sticks. Instead, shoppers bring their own eggs (crazy right) and buy fresh dough sticks from the next stall over if they want to add those into their JianBing.

I find that most of the Chinese foods foreigners introduce are ordinary street foods or snacks. Actually there are a variety of formal dinner dishes in Chinese restaurants. For instance, only Peking duck is regarded as a formal dish in China. Is it because foreigners don’t know the dishes or they prefer ordinary foods?

@@Nicofilms I just came back from Chongqing last month. It's in my top 3 cities of China now, you will love there! Chongqing was a part of Sichuan decades ago, so the foods are very similar. I think it's not hard to find boboji there. There are 2 flavors, mala(麻辣) and tengjiao(藤椒). Don't forget the taste both of them. Wish you a nice trip and looking forward for more make-me-hungry videos!!!

Hi Nico! Great video but your introduction of Chinese food was focused mainly on the northern cuisine. As a Cantonese, we have a very different cuisine than what you find in the north. Travel to Guangzhou sometime and I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised XD

Nico did a lot of research about local food 😁 I remember there's a Jian Bing store just near the 鼓楼东大街, they make both Jian Bing & Tacos which I love them all. Sadly last time I've passing by it seems they were closed. Speaking of this, have you tried the Peiping machine's Jian Bing? They made new style Jian Bing plus quality craft beers, it's become my new favorite 😋

THANK YOU NICO for the wonderful video, once again what a life full of adventures when one is open minded and willing to exp other cultures like yourself. So many people from the west are so influenced by all the Anti China propaganda making them so closed minded. Wish they will eventually be woken up by amazing youtuber like you, making them willing to take that 1st step to exp the wonderful China and its food and people.

For the Peking Duck, you can try dipping the sauce and coat it with a little bit of sugar, just a little. \ For me that was the combination which took it to a whole new level. Damn...so good.

you also should try Maocai(冒菜) in Chengdu, it's similar like Malatang. But Maocai is better, I think...
