Might I suggest a smal building project for the goats. Make a small feed holder and hang it up from the floor inside the barn for overnight munching. You could even make it movable to keep them interacting with their enviroment. Bored goats are destructive goats. Kind of like toddlers and pigs. LOL!! THEY ARE SO DARNED CUTE!!!!!!!!!!

They are very cute goats. Very plump and healthy looking. I'm not used to the dwarf breeds I have the larger breeds. Mine are mostly Boer/Nubian cross. I wouldn't leave the plastic chairs in there because they could get caught up in them. I've had mine get their heads caught in buckets because I'll forget to remove it. They have a tendency to get into things you don't want them to get into. I've made a lot of dumb mistakes over the years and I've learned a lot of new things too. Lots of joys and heartaches.

you need to put a 2 x 4 or a 2 x 6 about six to10 inches above the ground around the inside of the goat fence to keep the goat from standing on the wire fencing when looking out at what’s going on outside the fencing.🐐 🌽 👍 🐐 💜 you all seem to be having too much fun playing with the goats, enjoy seeing ever one happy enjoying the goats, even seeing Figaro sneaking around behind the goat pen

Awesome! The goats seem to have gotten comfortable real quick. The kids are a bit bigger than I was expecting; too cool. Bet you didn't know your feeder would double as a bed lol. Also they didn't waste any time going for the greens/weeds...sure they're going to love it when they can be out and about. Baby steps for sausage and links it looks like. S@#%, if I got zapped on the nose, I'd slow my roll a bit as well lol. Have a great week everybody.

I had to laugh when the little goat ended up IN the feeder ..... kinda caught me by surprise ~8^) Figaro has a little corner to spy on the goats from. Go to your local phone or electric company and ask to get on the list for wire spools. The big ones make awasome got hoof trimming table and climbing on them. We nailed roofing shingles on the top too to help them grind down thier own hooves. The small ones make good coffee tables while you sit out with them........ps........get wide bottom cups if drinking coffee with goats.......they are rude
@randysimons98026 жыл бұрын
good ideas. I like shingles to help with hooves.
@ynotshowme2ur3times6 жыл бұрын
Its amazing how well they work. As they jump up and down on it you find hoof dust and particles on it.........and if you dont have a hose to rinse it off now and then.......in a decent rain storm go broom it off.......it cleans up fairly easy with water and a little elbow power

The goats are just lovely and so cute. The ease with which the baby goat could leap over the back of the chair had me slightly concerned about the height of the fence but I guess you'll see. What I liked most about this video though, was simply seeing how happy you all were, after the long a winter, to just be relaxing together in the sun surrounded by the paradise you've worked so hard to build together. Awesome goats! You're right, they are smaller than Nubians. Very healthy, friendly and perfect for you, Gina and Olivia. You'll just have to see how bouncy they get regarding the fence height... The folks you bought them from get an A+ for the condition of their herd!
@jessies32366 жыл бұрын
diane hall what kind are they again? I want a milk goat eventually.
@dianehall53456 жыл бұрын
Hi Jessie, I forgot what kind Al bought. He can share that with you. I only have past experience with Nubians and love them. Their milk tastes very close to cow's milk when chilled. And they are playful as well. Their ears flop down. They remind me of small deer. We raise grass fed beef and I can't put a Jersey in with the herd, so I'm hoping to have a couple of Nubians. Best of luck! My next project is Californian rabbits :-)

Nice video. Nice breed of goat. In a few years you will have a dozen. Be blessed. You can use the strings from the hay in the garden. Nice goats. I had Toggenburgs and LaManchas. I think I would get Nigerian Dwarfs too if I were to ever get another goat. You do not need gallons of milk, just milk for drinking, cooking and coffee. You know your fence is working. I wish they had those type of fence chargers back in my day. Do you have any alfalfa hay available to you? I used to feed all alfalfa and I got a lot of great milk. Your butterfat in the ND milk may be far higher than what I got years ago. A little vinegar in the water, 1/4 cup to five gallons of water, will increase the number of female offspring. Next year you will have three millers. Al, you and the family are so blessed. Soon they will settle into a great routine.

Those goats look in perfect shape and health. Nice to see how people friendly they are and not skittish at all. I guess the breeder has given you the information as to how they were fed. Besides hay, what else do you feed the goats? Are you supposed to be giving them minerals as well? They sure complained a lot when they were locked into the goat barn.....
