Awesome that you can spend time with Caden fishing in your own pond. Love it.

Lucas: even a bad day fishing is better than a day a work. Especially if you can spend it with family. I used to take the kids down to the Petawawa River here and we would spend the morning just doing all kinds of things. It takes your mind off of work. Nice to see Caden catch more fish and bigger ones than you. He could teach you a few things... maybe? Take care and enjoy the time together. They grow up too fast.

Fill that pond with Shiners, and catch as many sunfish as you can out. Add soem structure and supplimental feed adn you'll grow some monsters

We have stocked fatheads several times, I will try to find some shiners to stock. We put lots of structure in there when we built the pond. I think we are good there. I got us a feeder I’m looking forward to seeing how that works out…

In the White Mountains 🏔️ of NH it’s been in the low 50’s at night . One night in early June it got down to 36 degrees 🥶.

I think you need to harvest some of those smaller bass. You guys caught a lot that were very similar in size. Too many mouths to feed in a small pond. To grow big bass you need to cull some of the smaller ones. Nice video, always a good time fishing your own pond.

Great video Mr Lucas. I can't eat bass eaither. They are fun to catch but that's about it. I much prefer eating crappie, perch, and catfish
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead2 ай бұрын
If we get to needing to harvest some of the bass for the overall health of the pond I will probably eat some, but otherwise I’d rather let them grow.

Looks to me like someone spent some "quality time" with a weedeater along those banks... Definitely feed those bluegills. I have a Texas Hunter fish feeder on my dock that disperses high-protein pellets twice a day, and a healthy bluegill population will lead to a healthy bass population. I cull any bass under 14" and fillet the 12"-14" size, which makes for a tasty shore lunch.

I sure did! That was the evening before. I think we will start feeding and consider culling some bass too.
