If you're loving life, enjoying what you do, and making a living the way you want, then its perfect! I think living life on your own terms and having the freedom to do what you want to do is 1000% more important than how much money you make. Plus you get to do it together! Love the video and always enjoy your channel!

Hey truckers ,,,,, I’m not a trucker but I do enjoy watching you guys have fun moving around the country.... as a business owner for 30 + years,,,, (General Contractor) my advice would be “NEVER NEVER tell the world how much money you make !!!!! As long as you’re happy and eating everyday it’s all good. As a company driver I clear 52000 a year in a tractor trailer. I enjoy seeing Canada and the US. Alaska last year was the highlight of beauty.

Thanks! You both were the reason I left hauling milk tanker for 18 yrs. I have a friend who got her cdl and we jumped into expediting. Work smart not harder, at first the days waiting were decieving, as I was used to constantly running. I am personally making the same money and running half the miles. I also like the fact that we run a 60/40 for a fleet owner. It's like running your own truck without the truck expenses. We are contracted to haul expedite thru a 3rd party. We are independent of of regular job and loving it. Learned alot and still learning. Coming from a nice pete 379 to straight truck with huge sleeper and more time off, we would not go back.

I'm really enjoying your channel. Y'all give out great, actionalble advice for those like me who are looking for their next career. One point to clear up, most Walmart drivers work 5 on, 2 off schedules. Some work 6 on 3 off some work 6 on 6 off. There are also some rotating schedules with 2 days off one week and 3 days off the next. Almost all work 2500 - 3000 miles per week. While their pay per mile is very competetive, Walmart also pays drivers for activity such as hooking and waiting to be loaded. God bless and safe travels, looking forward to the next video! From a former Walmart driver, me.
@rolandos644 жыл бұрын
Mark Bailey testify that unlike a owner operator Walmart drivers make more without the commitment/ obligations they inherit. You as a former Walmart driver walked away with a clean slate . An OO would be obligated to see it through the duty they signed up for, or never see the money they invested to acquire the equipment back. It would take years before you get back the initial investment and finally see your profits. By that point you’d be starting all over again since the equipment would most likely need to be replaced. You can’t be legit and get ahead.

I go from 1/2 Ton Pickups to 1tons to single & tri-axle Straight Trucks to Day Cab Tractor Trailers & Tractor with Sleepers with Trailers! We cover every type! Wide loads heavy equipment or Bridge pieces we will haul anything their is! Been doing it over 50yrs & still love it as much as whenever I started!!! The HARDEST thing I have to deal with is finding DRIVERS! Nobody wants to work anymore!!!!

TheCraftyTrucker ❤️. YOU GOT THAT RITE! I think I’ve went through all the good drivers! Well what actually has happened the Generation of Good drivers has either retired or passed away! U & Jason are the rare exception of younger drivers that are good! Most drivers ur age & younger aren’t worth two shits!! I still have about 6-7 drivers that are in their 70’s & early 80’s & they’re my best employees they didn’t want to retire so I got them dedicated runs & they are always 30-45mins early to work they get their paperwork done pretrip & get to getting! U2 be safe out there & keep it between the ditches & the shinny side up!

I run a few 4 and 8t trucks across, perth to sydney/melbourne. mostly part loads of furniture/machinery/beer (small craft beer company, doing kegs). i think I average about $350/M³ on dry loads, and about $650/M³ on refrigerated loads. (Australian Dollars) some truck I have are like 20M³ (Refrigerated) and others are 60M³ (pantech, like your cargo space) each. most times in running 3/4 loads and a few smaller trucks locally around perth too. started about a year ago, with a truck I bought for $6000. loving the lifestyle myself. have always loved driving

Box trucks are so under the radar, but a way better situation than tractor trailer. When you look at the liability and expense of operating a tractor trailer vs the net income, it doesn't make much sense.

Very good explanation of how you guys run your business. Yes, it is a business. Unfortunately most don’t understand that. Thinking back in my towing days I learned there are many ways to take advantage of business principles and especially use the deductible expenses to your advantage. For example 1 owner was able to setup a leasing company for which they were buying the trucks and equipment through their own personal funds and then they would lease the trucks to the corporation. Another owner was also a equipment dealer. He set up the dealership under a separate entity which allowed him to buy the equipment at cost. He ordered the chassis and ran the trucks through a leasing company. That way he had multiple deductions. At the end of the truck leases he was able to have the trucks back ends remounted/refurbished and he kept things rolling.

I have been watching your channel for a long time. To be clear I am not a trucker but I thought about it years ago. I think what some people overlook is that you are very meticulous about following the rules and staying legal. In your many posts about being inspected you never have issues. Your reputation with brokers gets you work that others may never see. And my impression is that you have done everything you can to take advantage of opportunities (like Hazmat). Also, really enjoy the keto cooking shows. we are about to embark on that journey and hope to have the success that you experienced. Cheers from Dallas.

From what I have seen and what little I know your truck makes about the same as a tractor trailer, Now what you have to consider your a team running 7 days, most tractor trailer Owner Operators are single person operation running 5 days home every weekend. I would rather do what your doing. You guys are unique, most people don't have what you have as far as being a team who loves what they are doing. Don't kid yourself till all the expenses come of most Owner Operators are making company driver pay.

A lot of people don’t get the words expedite and Custom Critical. I am an O/O and drive TT. Honestly I feel I make awesome money and you guys grossed about 75k more than I did last year. And I bet your fuel cost is way less as well. Also insurance costs have to be less for you guys. I put down 3800-4200 miles a week with just me. It sucks big time. I’m considering making the move to something similar. My take home is most likely way less as well. So don’t listen to people who tell you you would make more in a TT. It costs me almost 4K just for drives. Then figure costs of trailer parts and maintenance etc. you guys stay safe and keep up the great work!

Landstar is a good vessel for a happy less stress happy life. I’m in a big truck and I made over $180k working just under 10 months. I’m more about taking time off at home with my wife and our 4 fur babies. I love driving but I love being home with my family so I don’t think expediting would work for me but it’s perfect for you guys because your home travels with you. If I was out running with my wife expediting would be a serious consideration.
