As a kid I used the ole jack handle on a ratchet in the back of my uncles square body. When the bolt broke free the jack handle decided it didn't like the back glass and went straight through it. That was over 20 years ago... I'm still reminded of it to this day.

My Thai wife of 16 years is a farm girl, she too is really practical and an ace cook. She is a lot smaller than me and can and will get her hands into areas of the machinery I can't reach. Really useful. My first wife would throw the map out the car window if I questioned her navigation, never dreamed of asking her to help in the garage, she would go into week long moods if I did. Found that out the hard way - lol.

The rear seat and front seat are interchangeable by switching the mounting brackets. I've done this several times. I could always find a good rear bench buy never a good front of course. The rear bench will also fit in a standard cab.

We used a rear bench out of a wrecked '80 to put into an '84? single cab me and my buddy were fixing on once back when I was a teenager. Was cheaper than the upholstery shop, but that was in the mid 90s and a 20yr old truck was not really collectible or worth putting the effort or money into at that time. I really do like the idea of light brown & white cowhide on those seats with the original burnt orange - would look about as factree as can be.

Dad bought a new '74 GMC 3+3 Camper Special 454 too pull our 5th wheel camper. Gold with wood grain side inserts. That thing was a beast! First time he let me back it out of the garage, (I was like 13?), I broke the passenger mirror bracket (big fold out camper mirrors) off an screwed up the garage door trim.😀 Seeing you work on this, brings back great memories!👍👌
