Nice and simple walk through. You also might want to clean the mildew off the back of the plate before reinstalling since that stuff will grow in your wall and you'll wonder where the funny smell is coming from.

This saved me! Never even thought about it in a rv i airbnb out to guests. And water same thing coming under wall. Re siliconed the shower all the way around, magnets on curtains, etc. And just checked the valves after seein this and i couldnt do anything but laugh. Exactly what it was. Thank u for this video!!

Howdy chief engineer! Im a forester and even I can see a design flaw😅... why have the extension box thing slope back into the wall so if there is a leak in the valve it flows undetected back into the RV wall for who knows how long if its a minor leak 😢 our friends had this happen on their brand new $100k plus 5th wheel... please engineer one that the lines extend a little farther into the box and then is contained in the box and slopes AWAY from the wall with a few small drain holes so a leaky valve is noticed immediately as it drips into the waterproof shower area and not a hidden wall cavity... figure er out and let me know so I can give you my mailing address for my patent/royalty check 😂

Thank you for making this informative video. Does anyone know of a higher quality metal valve replacement model that works in RV's? The plastic seems kind of cheap and hate to have to repeat this procedure often. Mine does not have an enclosure like yours and flush mounts to the fiberglass enclosure. I think I may have to access the rear of the faucet by removing my washer and dryer.. Ugg !! Also, mine has the water spout facing down instead of up. Read lots of theories on which is the best way to do it. Any opinions? Thank you !

That was an incredible video. What year is this RV? Is it possible that someone installed and aftermarket shower surround? I had a different leak on my neighbors 1999 Fleetwood Southwest Storm Class A RV where there were two holes where the shower head attaches to the faucet / diverter.

Fans are amazing and much safer then using any kind of heater (other then the normal heating in the RV also white vinegar works wonders.

I just did this but noticed a leak on the hot water line that connects to that 90 degree pex fitting. I took off the clamp and wanted to replace it with what I thought was 1/2" but that was too small, 3/4" was too big, hopefully 5/8" If I can find it? But now idk because I found out that that type of pipe shouldnt even be connected like that to the pex fitting.

I will double check with Rob but I am pretty sure we disconnected the water and bled the line out so there was no water( just a drip or so) before replacing it. Hope that makes sense. Hi Rob, 2 things, notice that the valve nuts behind the handles are on first? That is because the valve is held in proper placement by these and then the backing spinner nuts are put on as you did with the new valve assembly. Second, we just put on new handles like the ones on your old faucet because the other handles get bumped so easy and we get scalded. Thanks for showing people how easy it is to change it out. I also put my faucet on upside down because the hose always gets folded. I don't know why they put them on top?

I agree these handles seemed like they would get bumped easily but so far they have worked, time will tell. Also the shower head outlet is on the top since there is a small weep hole to let the water drain out of the hose.

Thanks live in New Zealand in a RV cottage from the USA and my shower is Dripping! So I take it that I need a unit that you have installed? Great video, I need to do this, but my shower hose comes down from the bottom not the top, if I turn it upside down, then my hat and Cold will be backwards. What do you recommend?

Just hook the hoses up to the right handles.... They aren't set in concrete or anything...

@@joshsibley6419 my hot and cold are pretty sturdy and set in their position, I only have a half inch leeway on each side, but it’s OK, I installed it a month ago and it looks and works great. I ended up buying a faucet that mixes the hot and cold so it only has one knob. Looks and works great! Tried to attach a photo of it here, but can’t figure out how to do that

I think our leak is where you connected the shower hose. When I use the shower head and flip the lever to stop the water from coming out, some pours out still.

You have it upside down the black out let is NOT sealed and will let water rin down inside the wall while showering. They should never face up.
