Thanks so much !!! Saved me a lot of head scratching thinking I could remove this from the shower side. There was an access door on the outside of trailer to disconnect the old spigot. Well, we just got back from our first RV trip after installing the new mixing valve w/temp stabilizer. I wanted to get my wife's input on the change. She loved it. It had gotten to the point she would not use the shower because it was to hard to adjust. I also find we save some water since we spend less time fiddling with the two knobs trying to get the temp right. Thanks a LOT! This is great.

The connections on the back side might also benefit from a flange. If you had scraps from the front flange, they might help support the connections and don't need to be showroom-ready. Great video.

Just what I needed to see, perfect! Thanks a lot for explaining it so well. I could not understand how this thingie worked. The temp regulator must be regulating the amount of hot and cold water separately so they mix together and flow out as one uniform temp to the shower. Cost on Amazon in 2023 is $42 - $75. Mostly chrome finish, no name brands from China. Don't kid yourself about Grohe, Kohler, Moen being better quality. They are all made in the same shop in China but making higher profits, not necessarily better QC. Note that Amazon reviews mention after some time the cold water does not work, and its hard to winterize. Something about lubrication of the cold inlet. Not sure how, but for folks to make a note of. One KZbinr said that this saves water by recirculating the water till only desired temp comes out when you turn tap on. I don't see how that works exactly. Wish we could see a cross section of the inside of this gizmo. fyi - that kid is cute! Change your white plastic hose to a metallic flex type hose that matches. The Holy Roller is a really good name for an RV 😂😂😂

There is now one of these made for RV’s… it’s from Missmin. Thermostatic RV faucet missmin and it will pop up… is $69.99 right now. It’s the right size for an RV. By the way what denomination are you? Love what you said at the end!

None, winterize as usual…. The only thing I would say is have the temp mixing valve in the middle and the faucet completely open…. But you do that with each faucet anyways….

I'm going to try your suggestion on securing the shower faucet with a plastic cutting board. I don't have an access panel. My only access is via the panel that the fixture is connected to where the water lines are attached. My concern is the weight of the new faucet and how then the shower wall is..I'm afraid that while traveling, the movement of the RV will tear up the shower panel and water lines. 😞 Thanks for sharing.

no, it still will take a minute or so for the hot water to get from the water heater to the shower faucet.

you SHOULD have an access panel on a wall immediately behind the shower faucet. IF you don't, then the panel (inside the shower enclosure) that the faucet is attached to in the shower may be removable. like in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmbZqmSErduWY7s

In our pace arrow the access panel is actually a magazine rack in the bedroom, so it might not look like a plain panel. You take the whole rack off and ta-da!
