Bang Si-Hyuk is a genius and a visionary. He saw the potential in these young men that no one else could see. He spent time with each and every member often to talk and find out what each member was thinking, how they were feeling, and their goals and dreams. At the same time, he sometimes "tricked" them into doing something they wouldn't have tried on their own because he knew they would rise to the challenge. In 2018, when they almost disbanded because they were exhausted and felt burned out, the members were able to re-negotiate their contract to allow for more and longer break periods, among other things. The company listened, and we still have BTS with us today. Long may they continue!

So imagine seeing all these vlogs and bangtan bombs while they were coming out, while the guys were still dealing with those problems. As heartbreaking as it is to see them now, it was so much more intense when you really had no idea how things would go. That's why ARMY has always been so passionate, because how could you look at their transparency and vulnerability and not want them to do well? Why wouldn't you want to try to change people's minds about them? I think the group shows what the ideal parasocial relationship might look like. Yeah, it's not perfect, but the fact that the group and the fans are so open and honest and supportive of each other really is something unlike anything else in music.

Every time I see that clip with Hobi crying when his dad called makes me cry all the time. U can see his sorrow on how much Hobi misses his family. V & JK cried too & that just broke my heart. I was just turning 50 when I found BTS and heard No More Dream; a song ostensibly for the _youth_ of SK and the world. But I resonated with that song so much, it was *my* childhood, it was a pain and frustration that *I* experienced and could relate to and remember so keenly. It was this timelessness that snatched my ears and kept me looking into their music. No More Dream, Life Goes On, Black Swan, Idol, Paradise... The list is as long as their discography, all these songs speak to a deeper and persistent truth in the human condition. When you talk about still listening to and finding songs that were dropped years ago, I would like to add that music plays a big part in my life but I have never before experienced this - that in the three years I have been listening to BTS, I have never yet become bored of listening to ANY of their tracks! Different songs suit different moods and I seem to discover new things frequently in songs I have been listening to for months that I have never heard before or meanings that I have never thought about before. Most of what rm talked about was the critism of the "idol artist" by people and what people thought of bts, but in reality bang gave bts freedom to write their own lyrics. (the fact that idols were basically generated is not fault of theirs, and the fact that they weren't writing their own lyrics or producing can also be blamed on their companies. I can't in good conscience just blame this idols,for the state of the industry. Maybe it was the companies greed in getting money back faster for their investments or they simply wanted to save time, by buying songs instead of the idols writing them, or little faith in them, Only companies can tell us) Rm also mentioned how his own peers talked badly about him, that just shows how low they thought of being an idol. They didn't care to see just how different bts was. They thought everything was the same. In as much as bts had guidelines, they, choose how to work within them themselves. Like how many hours of practice, how much in studio, in lyrics and production this boys worked hard for their success. And I think people don't realize that bts aren't just artists they are also employees of their company. It's an interesting set up. It actually gives you a system of guidance. All bang pd told them was to write genuine lyrics of how they felt and their message. And what did bts do, the minute they discovered they weren't going home on Christmas they wrote a song for bang pd critisizing him and the company and straight up handed it to him. 7 boys determined and unapologetic in their feelings. And what did bang pd do? well he asked for the genuine feelings, - he had them in lyrics. So he did what any smart man would do, told them to turn it into an actual song, with a message, then Dude straight up produced and released it. A Christmas song!. The synchronization of bang pds pursuit and determination to non conform to industry stifling systems and bts talents and sincerity and passion was an amalgamation of perfection. This was a dream team. Of individuals focused on a new path. I do wonder how funny or awkward it was for bts to sing that diss song over and over to bang pd as he was producing and recording it. 😂😂.

Suga's generosity always blows me away. On HIS birthday he spent his own money (which I'm sure wasn't abundant at that time) to order things from the internet and make up individual thank you gifts for the fans, each with a hand written note from him (I hope those OG ARMY still have them!). He did it on more than one occasion too (and the other members often release new music etc as gifts for the fans on their birthdays). They have had an "attitude of gratitude" right from the jump. I always feel bad for idols, no matter the group, especially ones under certain companies. Like at some point it becomes borderline abuse. And then they can't see their families for the most part no matter how close or far. So, ultimately, they are forced to find comfort in their bandmates, which is not always given. They have so many cases of members bullying one another, to the point where a member leaves or want to leave. So I know Bangtan (and many others) are thankful they grew and learned one another to build a nice bond. Korea can be so conservative about certain things at times and it makes me pity those who try to break out of there but are constantly criticized for it. But its all within the generational gap if we're being honest, its like that in America as well.

I have many things to say.. for the starter... I remember from the compilation that idols don't usually write lyrics or produce songs... but Bangtan do their own music... and that is one of many reasons why they are different from other group... then there are some song that usually don't have meaning but as you can observe.. BTS songs are all written from their shared experiences... so the song will definitely be raw and genuine... Like people from different ages will totally relate to their song... I love how you express your different opinion... I'm looking forward for Chapter 5....

#Livelost is so true man and namjoon really he's one person with such high self awareness it's so rare to see that. he was younger than I am now and yet he had such deep perspective of life at that age it's really amazing exactly like blaze said also its amazing to see them achieve that they have the most loyal long term fans and that's because we can see who they are and their music speaks to us. also the part about the kpop industry lee sooman really screwed up the whole industry he's responsible for what we generally see as the dark side of kpop but bang pd really wanted to change this and although there were some rules that bts had to follow initially they had creative freedom and wrote their own music, their lyrics and had great input in their work. Not being able to see their parents is really sad but they were just extremely busy I can relate to it too since I live in another country to study and really sometimes just want to go home but the hardwork will finally payoff someday so we just gotta endure these times.

I love that yall are going through this series...as always, I just feel like I'm just rewatching BTS content with my ARMY friends! I think this episode highlights just HOW beyond their years they were back then. Their frame of mind and emotions is one of the many, many reasons they are still such a force and presence today! RM said it well, when he mentioned that part of WHY people hate on and criticize idols so much, is because they honestly just don't know all the ins and outs. They see what they see in broadcasts and shows and whatever the company or artists want to put out to their fans...and it does always seem like they're so pretty and shiny and well put together...but they are also human. They will bleed the same as you or I...I think that RM's response of "I'll prove it" was perfect. Instead of ranting and going off [outside of them fire cyphers lol]...BTS approaches these verbal criticisms with grace by just making those people eat their words. It's hard enough to live life with people thinking you've got it "easier" than they do...like your own trials, tribulations and personal demons are a mere speck compared to theirs...EVERYONE goes though it...and there is no scale of what's worse for someone...we all feel differently and overcome at different rates. It's better to be kind to people, for you don't know what they go through or think about when they are alone and are only left with their own thoughts and feelings. Another reason why BTS is the kind of group whose music stands the test of time...because it will always be relevant, their message will always speak to SOMEONE. At least one person will ALWAYS be able to relate to what the lyrics are saying. There is always a promise behind the pen that BTS possess, however; that you are not alone. There are people who understand or want to understand. That is beautiful. I'm not the most optimistic for myself, but I am always rooting for the success and happiness of those around me. At least I try to. I can't imagine how hard idol trainees' days are...as a trainee you don't even know IF the debut day will come. Even when it does...as an artist...you don't know IF you'll even last. That is crazy. On top of just everyday struggles, you have THAT always weighing on you. These guys were YOUNG when they started...away from home, their families, their familiar surroundings...and then having to feel they need to prove their worth?! I think that they've truly shown their characters and how strong they are. They don't shy away from shedding light on the troubles that live deep within people's minds and hearts and that the road may be bumpy...but it's all about that. #LiveLost ...it's definitely not about the destination...it's the journey. That is what shapes you and builds you up...and I think they've always stayed humble and true to themselves because they have traveled a beaten path and have felt beaten down but they rise above it and they support one another through it all. I think it's amazing. The music always gets me, like the Cyphers? Alway amps me up...I always feel goosebumps from so many songs like when I first heard it. I tear up whenever I see or hear them show their emotions about going through a hard time. They are an amazing group...and I'll carry their music and messages with me forever, I hope. Big thanks to yall for taking the time...big thanks to BigHit/Hybe for being the kind of company that allows for progress and blossoming of that truth and creativity...and big thanks to BTS...for being themselves. Wow. So many ups and downs in this Chapter Four: Reaction. It would take a long post to share everything I think about this, so I will just say that it was very motivational, inspiring, and a soulful bunch of videos. also i would like to point out a thing i noticed was when in the video when they were showing lsm talk about the idol life and rules and regulations being imposed on them they edited it like the members where pretty much doing everything opposite, like going out, writing their own music ,being involved in production, so it could be that bang pd never went with the typical kpop company thing but gave alot of freedom to the boys at the time, thats what makes bts also bighit so different from the rest of the companies and groups in general, i hope yall see this comment, its just my interpretation

RM is an awesome human being and he takes care of his boys. I listen to what RM said about loving yourself. For a long time I could not look in the mirror because I didn't like myself but now I can look and can love the person looking back at me. I have so much love and support for BTS thank you 💜

That´s what inspires me the most. They were really young kids working as hell, away from their families, with a lot of worries and fears in their heart and head and they overcome everything. They are amazing. This is why ARMY love them so much. It is pure admiration. They are the age of my kids and I think about the hardships and man, they are incredible.

After all these years of trying g to figure it all out, I've come to the conclusion that I don't HAVE to figure it all out. This right here is just one of the examples of how BTS helped me. All the things RM said throughout this episode is what helped change the way I perceive things. The way I look at certain situations I am faced. I always thought I was failing at life because other people my age (33) had their lives together. But thanks to these 7 guys right here I've realized I'm exactly where I need to be and if I keep going forward I'll achieve everything I want to.💜💜

Bang PD and BTS took a risk on relying on each other but it paid off. They supported and lifted each other up and never stopped. I'm a 53 year old grown woman and I have learned more in life since I found BTS than I have in all my life. I have mad respect for these young men! I thank God for letting them come into my life at a time when I couldn't get any lower. Lowest of the low. I had given up. I prayed constantly for help and in 2017 I found their New Years clip in New York when I was looking for another artist. I seen them performing DNA and I wad in Amazement at the Talent! I watched every video I could find for months (ya know that rabbit hole). I was happy again for the first time in 2 years. I heard myself laugh and that sound made me cry uncontrollably. Happy tears! My life is still hard but happy if that makes since. I guess you could say that a President taught me that even though I have made mistakes and have been through the wringer that I can Love Myself!!! ❤ I forgive myself and learn now and also have learned to forgive others and know not everyday is great but some days are!! Wait have you all not seen Hobi's Brithday video from 2014 where the clip of Hobi is Crying??? 1st they were happy tears so please don't feel mad or sad. I do believe a channel called Bangtan Subs still has that video up. The members got together to make a Bday video for Hobi's birthday and if you all haven't seen it I Highly recommend you all watch/react to it.
