We traveled to the Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN for the Annual $5K to win Crate Racin USA Street Stock Race. I sure had high hopes but didn't get very far.

I think you are overworking that RR WAYYY too much. The longer the race went the more wheel spin you could hear coming off, and the more tail out there was on entry. Especially if you are feeling way more RR temp than LR. Some of the wheel spin can be driver, but that tail out on entry looked setup driven. Losing all your drive for the rest of the corner and exit when you tail out on entry like that, especially on slick. IMO the "feed the hot tire" is backwards, especially on the CRUSA tires. Even to within 10% temp difference is what we like to see at the end of a slick feature. You're making progress, sir. We all have these nights when we are testing, learning, and tuning. Keep at it!

I agree, the rr being way hotter was a clear sign we didnt have the load in it we needed and needed to "feed that tire some more weight" to get it in the track and get some sidebite generated.

What you need is more development on the car. Probably the best option for you is to run more weekly shows to just get the car working the way you want it to work. It’s all about seat time and just learning the car.

I'm seeing that y'all are relatively equal on the straights... it's those who are getting through the corners better that are separating from the rest. Corner Speed equates to faster straightaway speeds. Sidebite Sidebite Sidebite... we aim for a lot of sidebite and then we start adding drive...

Definitely was sidebite issue. Right rear was roasting hot so I knew it was not getting into the track loke it needed.

Look like u were getting in the corner to hard, which cause u to brake and lose your momentum, then causing you to spin off. Take some install out of RR and replace it with a spring runber. All about keeping car in posture. LR up and RF down. Love your videos, keep digging
@RichFife

I agree with this... if his car would plant the right side, he would be able to go In hard and not lose momentum... the way it is now he needs to roll into the corners, trailing the brake and roll back into the throttle.
@DIRTRACELIFE

I agree, was definitely rolling in way too hard on the right rear to get it to plant. I think I had a bottom feeder car that night and it would have taken a change to the right rear setup to make that top work. i sure didn't have it right for doing that.

Adding load to a tyre (thats how we spell it in Australia) that's already overheating is the wrong way to go from what I've found. To me you're loading the RR too much. That's why it's loose on entry. Your loading the tyre faster than it can generate grip and then it's disconnecting from the track. You need to add left drive in the slick. Tyre load effectiveness is a bell curve. Some is good but more is normally worse. Keep up the awesome work. I love the videos and I look forward to seeing what you have to come.

i agree, you can absolutely overcome a tires maximum ability to attain grip. the majority of the time I specualte tires are on the light side of that curve and feeding the heat is the right move. but I do agree its possible to be past that max point and more weight just makes it worse. In my experience you know when you've done that because the tire will be completely shredded, feathered, junked out, etc after the feature.

Try moving your weight higher in the car, causes it to roll over harder on your right rear, especially on the slower dry sick tracks.

Seriously considering moving even more lead from the left rear to the right. And I have already moved 100lbs since where I started last year.

Really enjoyed the videos bud I don't run a metric chassis like a lot of guys at the track I run at do mine's mid-80 Impala Caprice chassis cut down to I know you don't run a metric a lot of the things you do to yours I think I can apply to my chassis I missed most of the season and then I let a buddy of mine borrow my car for a month when he tore his up pretty bad he runs four-points I don't I just got it back a couple weeks ago ran last weekend had a rough time with it tag the wall in the heat started 11 out of 14 in the b feature spun a guy had to go to the rear got up to 10th good move any farther so I just pulled off going to try it again this next weekend going to try a couple things that you're doing to your car I think it might help mine but I'll let you know next weekend how it came out but I hope you get a run this coming weekend buddy keep up the good work and the videos have fun take care and thanks again for all your videos

So when one rear tire is hotter than the other that means it's spinning and needing more traction on the hottest tires side

Cant expect the car to be perfect, but you do have to change driving style to get better corner entry and exit. Going in the so low has that car all bound up.

Nick, Crusa SS has a 2.75" max distance from the tube rule and thats where they are. yes, the left CA much lower would be great but it would also be cheating and could get me dq'd in this class. and yes I am running against guys that do it anyway and seem to get a pass or maybe it just doesn't get seen.. .

@@DIRTRACELIFE ok that cleared it up for me. I run IMCA, rules say 7.5in long bracket, max of 5 holes.... now those holes can be anywhere. And how wide of a bracket is unknown lol! Room to play.
