If you haven’t seen our first video of our trip to the beautiful Vancouver Island, we invite you to check it out. But to get you up to speed, we took the ferry from Horseshoe Bay terminal to Nanaimo, British Columbia. There we spent the first night camping at Costco, then headed to Horne Lake Provincial Park the following day. We then kayaked across the lake to film and document the Silver Bell mine. This video is of the following two days where we headed over and took the self guided tour at Horne Lake Caves, then headed to Jim Mitchell Lake to explore what we thought was a mine. We quickly found out that we may have made a big mistake!
We thank you for taking the time to watch our video and appreciate all the positive support! If this is your first time checking out our channel we hope to earn your subscription today! If you enjoyed the video we would appreciate the help if you could share and like our video, it really helps our algorithm on KZbin. Take care everyone and stay safe.🏔⛏

There was eventually and we had actually passed it on the drive up, so we knew where we were. Just glad they didn’t decide to empty the lake while we were in there lol Unfortunately not much had happened at Othello:( Nothing much in the talks, but I did hear they were planning on bringing it to the governor with a proposal. The only thing it has going for it is its history and the tourist aspect. Fingers crossed they’ll eventually get the green flag for work to commence. Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment. We appreciate it!! Happy New Year!!

Ayyy! Been waiting for this vid. Props to you AND YOUR KIDS for going through those areas! Sorry it didn’t turn out to be any part of the actual mine, but still really cool to see and looks like you had great weather at the lake👌🏼

I've been to Horne Lake and for sure you have to be careful about bumping your head. I hit my head on a low ceiling and it bled. I probably should have worn a bicycle helmet. Upana caves on the way to Tahsis is another nice cave system with about 1500 ft of passages to explore.

We’d like to go back next year and pay for the full explore and caving experience. Never heard of Upana, will have to look it up.

Could you share what you use for gas detection?
@AdventuresRUs
@AdventuresRUs Жыл бұрын
We bought ours off of Amazon. It’s the XLA Alert Portable Gas Detector, currently selling for $148.99. I’ll try and attach the link, but if that doesn’t work, search gas monitor on Amazon. www.amazon.ca/Portable-Detector-Monitor-Digital-Quality/dp/B07RT36DB8/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?crid=BQFN4CX8HMGD&keywords=gas+monitor&qid=1706035334&sprefix=gas+monito%2Caps%2C142&sr=8-10&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.b06bdbbe-20fd-4ebc-88cf-fa04f1ca0da8
