A little copper anti seize on the spindle would sure make it easier to come out the next time it breaks.

When Strikers get buried at the proving grounds, a 500 gallon tank with a fire tender pump using a 1 inch hose does the trick. The 2 inch hose has more water volume, but less pressure.

Sounds like Chet is not going to find out it will work or not. We have the same type of soil. And that how we do it. The other way is leave it to dry and then it breaks up so you can get it out.

I know our soil might be a little different than yours, but we definitely have some major gumbo in spots too. It's always worked out well for us to do the 2 inch firehose. You have enough pressure to knock it off and enough volume to wash it away.

I thought the same as long as they get it washed off immediately when finished for the day. They are pretty sharp with most everything they show so there must be something with that soil that I don’t know.

Used fire trucks sell pretty cheap in my area. If it would leave 70-85% of soil in the field I would think it would be worth it.

I agree Alex. We have a well that will do 110 gpm and 2" hose. I farm east about an hour of Larson's and if you neck it down to 1" the volume makes up for it. If you could do 200 gpm at 1.25" or 1.5" it will cut it off. Either a used fire truck or in their case, probably the sprayer tender (assuming that they have one). We mainly use ours to cut the mud off the skidloader tracks but same idea. What used to take 45 minutes with a pressure washer is a 2-3 minute job.

Not a power washer, use a 2 inch line with a 1 inch nozzle. Sink a holding tank into the ground and a wash bay with a long water way so mud settles out before it hits the tank.. Or make a drive through water pit with water flowing in from the sides. Using a hi flow low pressure system

Swine "finishing parlour" conversion to quad / tracked equipment splash pond/ soak pool idea....next pig parlor conversion plan should include connecting same to heated shop area so that after wadeing/wash(with high pressure recycled snow melt/rain water) tractor/equipment can be transferred directly to shop area for repair in heated area during winter down time. While equipment soaks...crew can put Larson Farms DGFK special self immolating steaks ( see previous video comments by M Murphy) on the grill/pit and either grab a few brewskis or a bourbon and branch and celebrate another end of harvest. Thanks for another great video. It for sure was interesting. Seeing your mom and Toby at the end of the video was really great. Everyone listen up and get your orders in. Toby looks like he has put some weight on. Now to the subject of the mud-wow have you got the mud. I know everyone has there way to do things. When we had mud problems we did use the sprayer water setup with a fire hose and fire nozzle you can adjust. Have to really hold to it or it’s out of your hands. Now to be honest it might damage some paint, labels, etc. BUT, it will get that mud out of there and cleaned up. Does work good. You might Randy the Pipe Layer to see what he does. He is in mud a lot. Just trying to help not trying to boss you around. Mud is so trying on the patience’s. Hang in there you all. Big struggle bus item for sure. Chet you look like you had a haircut. ?? Toby was wanting his couch back-ha!!! Dougo appears tired of the mud and struggle bus mud. Hang in there. About it for now. You all take care and be safe. We have similar soil to you, just a deep copper red colour here in Australia. We have found that pressure is less important to volume of water. We use a 4inch fire hose and as many litres per minute we can get. We have also got really good results from a snow foam pre wash soak prior. However, the worst year we have had for mud, we pulled our track machine into the river and drove it around for 20 minutes, that got the tracks clean as new.

Love this channel, you guys are the best and so awesome. Surely can't blame anyone for not cleaning up messes..........man what a task you have on your hands. I think high pressure hoses would help as I have been hit by a well pump let loose and at 50 feet away it dang near or did knock me to the ground. It was unexpected and scared the dickens out of me but if it could knock me over the high pressure hose could do it I think.........as long as you give it a good soak first perhaps to loosen up a bit.........man I dunno but that is some kinda mud. Ugh Best of luck Blessings

Maybe you guys need to make a cement pit that you can drive the tractors through to wash the tractors in .One you can fill with water and maybe have nozzles spraying the tractors on the way through, I hauled dry cement(rinsed off my tanker) and dirt and such and we watered the loads down by driving through an automated car wash type thing for semi's there were nozzles spraying our trucks from every direction always kept my truck spotless doing that system.

If you had access to a fire hose, and a fire nozzle, the combo of pressure and mass of water flowing may help to move that muck. We have done that with epic mud on our skidsteer here in ny... thing is you need either a fire hydrant, or a pump with big enough discharge and pressure to pull it off..

Have some friends in the northern part of our county here, and their farm has it great deal of clay on it their habit was always to go out and plow at night when the soil starts to freeze and crack a little bit nail plows early as it possibly can if they can get going right after corn harvest they go, or they'll wait till long towards spring when there's some nights you're getting Frozen yet no plow and hopefully they go through several freeze and thaw cycles and that way then it'll disk and harrow down to form a good seed bed then.

Larson Farms needs to find and buy a used surveyed Field fire truck with plenty of fire hose then take it and those mud magnets down to a water source and use the high pressure function of that fire truck to blast that gunk off. That's what farmers did in my farm hometown. The guy who owned it rented it out to other farmers to recoup his costs. Sometimes doing good old swaps as part of the payment. Everyone came out happy.

Fire hose is the ticket, 1 3/4” hose will give you 1 gallon for every 1 pound of pressure. 100 lbs pressure = 100 psi. It will make short work of all the mud and chaff that’s built up. While firefighting we would use 125 lbs of pressure which gives you 125 psi, and did a lot of work with it.

To keep the shop floor clean when removing mud from the tracks, place 10 X 10 tarps on the floor. Drive the tracked vehicle onto the tarps. Clean mud and debris from the tracks and it will fall onto the tarps. When finished drive the tracked vehicle from the taprs. Then 1 or 2 people should be able to fold the tarps and deliver the mud and debris to the field from which it came.

Chet, need to find you an old fire truck that's been decommissioned from the city, those things will put out enough water pressure to strip the paint off, that would blast the mud off for sure

Winnie, you have been around Eric so long your hair is now the same colour as his. What will the neighbors think? Mud is a natural part of farming, you know that. Good video. Peace.

Diesel powered hydrovain compressor blow it out? On the pea viners I use to run when wet and got keep going it use to build up around the wheels with pea horn and mud. 10bar of pressure soon moved a lot and really helped out digging out. Cuts through it like a knife.
