MORE ABOUT ME
I'm Anne of All Trades. In NASHVILLE, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. Whether you've got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you've always wanted to do, everything is "figureoutable."
I became "Anne of All Trades" out of necessity. With no background in farming or making things, I wanted to learn to raise my own food, fix things when they break and build the things I need.
8 years ago I got my first pet, planted my first seed and picked up my first tool.
My goal is to learn and share traditional techniques and skills while showing my peers how to get from where they are to where they want to go, how to do the things they are passionate about, and what can be done TODAY to engage their own community and grow deep roots.
Whether it's carving spoons, making my own hand tools, restoring my antique truck or growing heirloom tomatoes, the farm and workshop definitely keep me busy and support - whether financially through Patreon, through shopping my affiliate links, through buying merchandise, plans or project videos, or even just liking, commenting, and sharing my content with others helps me GREATLY to keep producing quality content to share.

I've watched your channel for a long time and we worked together at Woodsmith in Iowa before the pandemic. I've also been around this platform for a long time. I've seen successful channels that are primarily personality-based, and I've seen successful channels that are mostly content-based. But the best channels, the ones that go the farthest and last the test of time are those gifted with both compelling content AND an appealing personality. You have that gift. If you can successfully integrate it into your educational content there will be no stopping you.

Captured my thoughts close to perfectly but I couldn't state it so well. I'm an Avid fan of both these channels for those reasons. I've been a little burned out lately on watching youtube and haven't watched for all those I follow. But this is a real motivation to move AoAT to the A-list.

+1 to what Stumpy Nubs said. I THINK I have watch EVERYTHING AoAT has put out. I have to say "...gifted with both compelling content AND an appealing personality." is exactly correct! and AoAT You DO have that gift! You have shared a lot more than most and doing what you are doing with some of the depression issues etc. is awesome! It is no surprise that it put a strain on your marriage and I for one am SO happy you guys are concentrating on that, you NEED a partner, especially on the rocky road and the level of work, life and personal stuff you are doing! Remember, there are a BUNCH of people rooting for you!

I’ve just recently (like days ago) started following your KZbin channel and I’ve been so freaking impressed with your candour and humour and unapologetic take on life. Just yesterday I built my first (very small) lazy garden in our backyard and when my husband and I were walking our nearby little forest trails this morning I saw the gift and beauty of nature in a new light thanks to you. We are a retired couple in northern Ontario, married 42 years and let me just say, the decisions you have made will abundantly reward you. Your insight on what matters most is spot on. Sending bucket loads (wheelbarrow loads!) of love and positivity to both of you!, ❤️❤️

Don't say it's annoying when he can fix a problem that you couldn't figure out how to fix In Months. That's what he's there for! Be thankful. He is wanting to be a part of your world . I think he felt like he lost you and he's fighting to get the us factor back not Anne's life and Adam's life, our life! He is what u need on the business end of your dreams. That's what he enjoys and is great at. You are more hands on. The two of you together will make a phenomenal successful team and will be happier putting your talents together, working together but apart not on top of one another. I admire Adam for taking this step to get into your world to be with you and help you while things are so overwhelming for you. I admire you for allowing him in considering its hard for you to accept help. Stop comparing yourself and Adam! You are great at what you do. If he is better at something so what! Cherish the time spent together and gain some confidence

1st Daddy&daughters❤ So, I must say, I’m glad you’re talking to someone to help get through those tougher bumps. I say this for one reason…because YOU’RE AMAZING AND I HOPE ONE DAY YOU FULLY SEE THAT IN YOURSELF. You have soooo much to offer others! We spend too much time criticizing our own selves and comparing ourselves to others, one really, each of us have our crutches and our strong points, and you have some really amazing strong points! As a matter of fact, I sent your name to one of my best friends because, out of all of the gardening things I’ve watched and everybody I’ve watched on KZbin for other things as well, there is something special and unique about you. That’s very drawing in. You’re a beautiful person, but your personality far exceeds that with all of your talents and humor About things I love that you smile while you cry because so do I. Adam 😉 both of you are our beautiful! Love story is special. My dad was a carpenter, first job was firefighter/paramedic but he built decks and beautiful log cabins. I’ve been building alongside of him since I was born, and now he’s passed, so I’d cherish those moments when you can bond with your dad. I know I’m cramming all of us in, but I also wanted to tell you thank you very much for your videos, because myself and my 30 year-old daughter have learned so much and will continue to implement your gardening Waze into ours. Your information is genius! Every bit of it! I’ve watched a numerous videos now and then I stumbled upon the school. You’re doing oh my gosh, I cannot even tell you how awesome that is! You’re seriously the coolest person that I have met in decades! Then to find all of the woodworking that you’re doing that is like a dream and a passion of mine because it stems from my father and became my own passion. I used to skip classes just so I can go to my woodshop class for a few hours each day, lol. I could keep going but just know that you are definitely changing lives and that will continue to be an extension for generations on my end and I’m sure in others as well. My granddaughter is going to have a full knowledge of self survival for food because of you.

Good video. My wife gave me lots of grief about all my unfinished woodworking projects and partially finished chairs. Oh and all the clutter. It used to weigh me down mentally until I watched a Sam Maloof video and he talked about how he would get bored with one project and move to another. Now I tell her brilliant minds work that way sometimes.

The first time I saw your channel Anne (at your other home) I was blown away at your wood working talent. I was inspired by your skill, honesty about your disability( I'm a special Ed teacher) and your health issues. You are so down to earth and I love that. Then I met you and Adam together on video and I was shocked to see Adam's wasn't really involved. I was not sure how you both matched up. But now to hear Adam compliment you and involved and enjoy what you do really makes me happy for you Anne. You're an amazing person and Adam is wise to join you. Your looking strong together. ❤️

I can’t imagine the pressure and editing work it must be to do these wonderful teachable videos. Your inspirational but to work with saving a marriage that most people just throw away is so needed in this day and age. I’ve been married for 36 years and it hasn’t been easy but so rewarding. It’s hard in some areas to embrace the differences but when you appreciate those differences you can use them and become an amazing package together. Also to give our children a happy parent package is the best thing for them emotionally and mentally and an example for their own family and our grands. So much I can say on that but this world needs example of working things out because as a couple and package you can create so much more for this world.

Just now finding your channel and falling in love with your delivery. Looking forward to seeing what creative ways you incorporate your husband's participation into the mix! I've uprooted my husband to a further commute from his work at our local university, to move to the goat farm I've worked for going on 6 years. It has been an absolute culture shock! I'm getting over the hump of 'Was this a mistake?' and moving into 'This is exactly where I want to be!' and it is a process to say the least. I'm learning the familial aspect of farm chore dynamics and that not every job is for everyone, so with a lot of mustered patience and courage we're figuring it out! This is a trial run for our family to begin our own farm someday so he won't be letting go of his career anytime soon but my hope and prayer is that we can let go of side jobs and consolidate our life and work into a cohesive partnership. I wish the same to you guys! I personally would love to hear you more candid so I'm going to have to check out your Instagram 😜

WOW Anne! and Adam! So excited for you both!! First of all...Anne you do community better than anyone I know. The way you care for, drop whatever you are doing for and think of community is a model that we need going forward. Our culture NEEDS this now more than ever. We are so disconnected and isolated, unity and joinery is what we must have to heal individually and collectively! Second...so thrilled to hear you and Adam made the hard choice to lay aside what culture idolizes to make your relationship the priority. It is easier to quit on marriage, but you both are going to reap large rewards for chasing after the hard, right thing!! It is a small step back that I believe will launch you both forward in a major way. Praying blessings and favor over the two of you, your health, the farm and the school for your faith to pioneer in this way. Believing for open doors and ever increasing strength and courage to move in the direction of your dreams. Cheering you both on!!

You two are incredibly adorable together, and I'm so glad to hear of the new directions and fresh starts. Also loved the impromptu music, fantastic rolling with it. Hope you do more of it in the future!😍❤ Can't wait to see what's next! Love from Maine! ~Deb

Some friends of mine (Chasing Summer) played at the Homestead Festival, which caused me to look into it (though I didn’t attend) - looked like an amazing event!! Thanks for sharing your story & plans! I’m in the Franklin area and definitely keeping my ears out for progress on the school, etc... :)

Both my wife and I enjoy watching your channel. And 2 of our children as well as have issues with dyslexia one being profoundly so. So we see your struggles but you and your husband have a good quiet strength. Keep up the great videos. And don't sell yourself short as you do have a great presence.

Go get ‘em, guys! Thrilled for you both. Anne, I can relate to this so much…the depression, anxiety, kid questions, working with a spouse, and jumping tracks to redirect your focus. Working during depression is THE PITS. You are a trooper, and such a ray of light, Anne! Can’t wait to hear more from you both! Great big hugs to you both!❤

As a single dad of a daughter, loved your comment about bringing dads and daughters together. It's great that there are so many women on KZbin teaching skills, doing creative stuff, etc. She really likes watching your channel, is learning to whittle, and today we start framing out the 8x8 club house together that she helped design. Swells my heart.

This is so exciting! Anne, I really appreciate your willingness to share about mental health. I didn't realize I was struggling until you started sharing, and it made me realize I was hiding from how I felt in my own situation. I thought I could just ignore my way through it, and it actually works better to face it.

Oh wow, lovely music! Also this update gives me a whole new level of appreciation for the fact that you took the time to answer my question about piths in branches! Anytime someone asks me about what I'm doing with my axe and piece of wood I'm chopping, I always try to reference you in the conversation because watching your channel got me interested in trying chopping/carving/whittling. I really appreciate your goal with the school and homesteading, so I also referenced you recently on someone's facebook post challenging men to list a woman they look up to who's not related or their romantic partner.

I can understand with so much accomplished there might be burnout and few if not many failures along the way. Congratulations, all the hours, weeks, months of work. Love the Stew Mac build Black guard T and 5e3 deluxe amp. Envious and above me. I've barely soldered Lollars into my Jazzmaster, Glendale bridge into my Nocaater but I know my limits. My Boston of 16 yrs passed so now I'm growing way too many tomatoes, making 4 Cottontails the best they can be along with our birds. Love to see you guys on bikes. Stress reducing, cardio inducing, quiet like being on a horse and you would receive high praise with your flock, herd.

So excited for you guys, so much respect. I would love more carving video stuff. I actually bought carving stuff after watching your videos , but haven't started yet. I think I still feel intimidated. And now my 8-12 year old boys want to carve things, but I'm not sure how to safely begin teaching them when I feel like my natural knife "skills" are rather inept...lol.

Thank you for being open and vulnerable about your marriage problems and the Great Lengths you have taken to preserve the sanctity of that commitment. Also thank you for stating that it's not a good idea to ask if a couple is pregnant since you don't know their journey or wishes. I have had many painful times that has happened to me and anticipate there will be many many more. God bless you two and all you are doing ❤

I believe 100% that learning to ask for and receive help is as important as helping others. Case in point: our house burned 3 months ago-absolutely devastating. In the aftermath of that, however, I have been blown away by the number of people who have come alongside us and saturated us with gifts of time and money and love. I will never stop trying to help others but I realized how blessed I am by being able to receive the love, help and support of others. In the wake of the pandemic rethinking what we can make of our lives has become more important and a tangible goal. Anne, your value is NOT the sum of your knowledge. Easy to say, I know. The amount of knowledge you have, combined with your willingness to jump in and do (and learn as you go) is an example many folks seem to need these days. good luck to you both.

Anne, I agree with your husband. I have been watch you since you started. I loved the early videos because they were more real. The videos don't have to be perfect we prefer to see the mistake and silliness. even off the cuff stuff. You rock and I am sure when you and your husband get into the grove you will produce great videos. I enjoy your character and your charm. let it shine.

Love this. Leaning in and coming up with solutions. I didn’t know you were married, and Im one of the people who asked how you did this single, Im single and just bought an acre, so wanted to hear. When you said you were married, I was really surprised… Being more involved with each other’s career will be amazing for you. And finding how you can help each other, and be creative to fill those needs. This is also my first YT video Im watching. I started therapy, Thais Gibson has amazing videos on relationships, needs, wounds, communication, and attachment theory stuff. It has changed everything. If you have time, watch a few. They are short and are really about how to manage your own expectations, stories, needs, etc. Your bouts of depression may be helped here. It’s always a thing, but it really becomes a habit to go “wait stop. what is this story, is it true.”

You’re are such a model for me. I have always wanted to start Permaculture videos mostly in Spanish. I feel the Latin population isn’t getting all this great info we have an English. My mom and I love to watch you with your upbeat enthusiasm. And you explain it all so well with such fun and lightheartedness that is completely inspiring and contagious! I am so glad your husband chose to join you and leave his stressful job. I have always wanted somebody to be out there in the garden with me. We are three generations of women, the Garden alone.

I was so interested in Anne's farming skills. She made it okay for me to approach my home gardening skills while honoring my ADD! 'Yeah, maybe I will water the plants today, maybe I won't!' But, I fell in love with her and Adam, after watching this amazingly vulnerable, loving couple, tackle the crap that happens to hit the fan at some point in everyone's life. This is NOT the same life I led as a NYC Paramedic Instructor. At some point I will start my SquareSpace Acct., and follow them from my garden/bee space, in Upstate New York.

Anne, one of the reasons that makes your farming videos valuable is because you are working up from very little experience. More experienced life farmers don't have that perspective that other starter uppers like us need. Love from England to you both.😍
