That wall at 14:42 looks almost exactly like the walls in my grandmother's house, back in the late 90s/early 00s. Looked super cool, but we noticed (after renovating her house) that it made the house look darker inside.

It's looking great!!! We also had a sun porch with that half wall feature and screened sliding windows that went to the ceiling in our old house in Florida and loved it. You could have it open or fully closed. We watched many hurricanes come through while sitting out on that porch because yes....we were those people.

With that duct work over time, condensation will build up and cause a lot of dripping. Depending on the humidity you get. So just fair warning i would have some kind of access to that duct work. I should cation you on hard ceiling that part

I totally understand people thinking that those clings cover the whole window and protect them. That would be nice. But they do not. They are only there for stability in shipping. The painters still have to come in and cover the whole open area. No harm no foul.

Looks great! But as someone that deals with public and private utilities as part of my job, any contractor that is going to be doing any type of subsurface disturbance, should know better than to 'dig' without properly clearing utilities, especially on residential property. Public will only clear from the 'road' to the meter. That's it. Obviously they fixed the water line, but if they are to do anymore digging, I would be sure they call in a private locator first.

I help build houses for a living, more accurately, cabinets. And I hate building custom houses >_< the money is amazing but having the homeowner be the "boss" is aggravating on so many levels lol.
