Story of my nigerian life. Father is from Abia, mother from Anambra, born in Sokoto, raised in benin. Lived my adult life in lagos. Nigeria rejects people like me. I felt very rejected by almost everyone even from my family

In 2015 campaign, APC promised to get rid of state of origin requirements and replace it with state of residence. They never fulfilled that promise.

Aisha I wish this topic could go viral. This discussion should continue.

I recommend everyone here should go and read Chukwuemeka Ojukwu's "Because am Involved" and hear what he said about this "State of Origin". That's the reason NGR is still where it today, BACKWARD🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦😡😡😡. What a SHAME!!!!

It's sad for people like me. As a Gen Z, I was born and brought up in Lagos. I've not been to Edo State. But I'm sad because I can never aspire to become the Governor of Lagos State. And if I try to run for office in Edo State, I will be rejected because I'm a Lagos born. It's sad.

Kemi Badenock will be rejected in Nigeria if she wanted to run for office. Right now they want her to be kind and allow herself to be used by Nigerians, the same ones who will call her a useless “oyibo” or a “been to”. Yeye people.

Honestly state of residence should override state of origin

Ovevekuve. Mom. Me too oh. Am from Edo, but was born in kd, but I don't belong anywhere. Am just a Nigerian. People like us are becoming populous and very soon indigene things will hold no water.

I have the same mindset as you in many cases, it’s just unfortunate that our National Assembly is just not functioning because these are the stuffs they are supposed to fix 😢

where we are from matters because the future of Nigeria is not clear...we are not one people
@davido2722 күн бұрын
State of birth, state of residence, state of father, state of mother, state of spouse, state of tax. Traveling outside Nigeria, the only one that matters is state of birth which is what is on the Nigerian passport.

Tax must increase to pay for the money nigerians borrowed internal and external

I can relate with this Hajiya, my Dad is from Kogi State, my mum from Benue State, I was born in Borno State, grew up in Abuja and currently based in Niger State. I feel out of place when people refer to my state of origin

That’s more reason why Nigeria should split up we are not one you can’t make 3 to be one

I have made this comment on my FB page in 2002 when I used to have FB.. Your place of birth is your first home.

How about second or third home? Can I choose since it can change based on circumstance?
