@michellezevenaar Жыл бұрын
@micheleyamamoto545 there are cookies similar to Graham crackers that have a lay of chocolate on 1 side, they are sold in the Netherlands. They work really well too because the chocolate is thinner than a chocolate bar so the melted chocolate does not drip as much. Chocolate inside the marshmallows sound delicious as well!

Amaury, I have a tip that worked for me, to minimize loss of space in a similar situation: after the boiler installation's done, build another wall in front of of it. Access to all the boiler stuff could be created with heavy barn doors on sliders, with heavy duty rollers. On the shop side you can move and rehang stuff, for example moving the racks that hold your bar clamps, long levels, looped extension cords, etc. You might also hang led fixtures back there so nobody has to drag a flashlight around to read gauges. I hope this isn't clear as mud to you!
@karinbergman1646 Жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I was thinking. A "false" wall that could even have storafe on both sides!
@gailcraig4495 Жыл бұрын
Great idea!👍
@fringedwellermccatintyre730 Жыл бұрын
P.S.: There was one thing I forgot to mention. If there's too big of an arc/swing for the door, that's when you need the sliding hardware. But then there will be a section of wall where the door will slide over it, and ya can't hang things there. So to minimize that bit of loss of space, I stored stuff that can easily be moved, like the moveable wood crib, shop vac, and staging.

Ok..to make s'mores you just hold two marshmallows on a stick over a flame until they are golden brown on all sides (idealy) if they burn..or catch fire..just blow them out...they still taste great...put a Hershey chocolate bar on top of a whole Graham cracker ...then push the gooey marshmallows off your stick with another Graham cracker to make a "sandwich" let cool just a bit...then devour...The reason I wrote all this is because we never put the chocolate over the flame WITH the marshmellows.

So glad to see the information about St. Jude's Hospital. It is a wonderful place that is a blessing for the pediatric cancer patients and their families. I don't know if you know the story of the founder, Danny Thomas? He was an actor/comedian of Lebanese descent. He was Catholic and knew St. Jude was the patron of hopeless cases. He asked St. Jude to intercede for him to be able to make a living as an actor. In return he would build a hospital for sick children who were hopeless cases suffering with cancer. He ended up with a very successful 1960's situation comedy show, "Make Room for Daddy". I grew up watching it. A very sweet man. He kept his vow to God and built the hospital. His daughter, Marlo Thomas, who was a successful actress in "That Girl " TV show, Carries on his work.

The French sign "Pain Complet" grabbed my attention as I suffer from chronic pain. Translating the phrase into English, I learned it means "whole wheat bread." 🍞 If you have a gluten intolerance, it certainly can cause widespread pain. As an American, I've never seen a chocolate graham cracker before, but looks interesting! Traditional S'more layering: graham cracker, toasted marshmallow, chocolate bar, graham cracker. The key is toasting the marshmallow until it's soft inside and just about ready to fall into fire. The hot, gooey marshmallow melts the chocolate candy bar thus holding the graham cracker "sandwich" together. 😉❤

The pavillion! I find myself utterly rediculously happy about how all the gardens and the courtyard will look at Lalande this year. All the daliahs, new tulips, roses in the courtyard. The espailered apple trees, pavllion, beds of daliahs, roses, and drifts of Russian sage in the walled garden. Naturalized garlic and tulips in the woods. The Second English garden by the chapel. It's all going to be so beautiful! And yes, I do realize how crucial the heating system and structural work on the chapel and grand salon are. Could not be more pleased that all are being done. But the gardens!! They have my heart. Deepest thanks to Kirsty, Pavlina, Dan, Davey, Nick, and the lovely young lady who is brilliant at veg and whose name unfortunately escapes me. My apologies. PS. Superb sheep wrangling by all. :)

I watch and rewatch every episode and I find so much joy watching what everyone is doing and the projects going on. Such a lovely group of people making a full-filling life at the Chateau. It is also so nice to see tour mom back with Percy, i love the wise sensibility and humor. I love how the garden is evolving and the cultivation of the grounds. If i could wave a wand and make the lake reappear i would! Its wonderful to see the love bringing the chateau back to life! Thank you so much to everyone for sharing tour lives its so personal. Warm Regards

That “oh dear…” comment and then the sheep running around cracked me up. 😂

Farmers in Australia have used drones to round up sheep and cattle. It’s amazing how good it works

Loved the sheep herding (reminds me of my childhood on a farm in the midwest of the U.S. where we often had to get cows back in) and the making of s'mores was so fun to watch! "What's the graham cracker for?" 😂The things we take for granted that everyone knows based on where ever we have been raised. Love the screwer you were given! We just usually use a stick. ☺
